Unless it's either Rod Stewart or Phil Collins.

But again, only because their music causes massive internal haemmoraging.

80s music is great as well. I inherited my love of the era from my mum, and the fact that one of my favourite films is Back to the Future. "The Power of Love" really rocks.
Oh, and I just loooove gimick bands. Tatu, the Darkness, Right Said Fred, legends. Too Sexy For My Shirt is an overlooked classic. Anything but Cheeky Girls.
Oh, and my fave contemporary stuff is The Feeling and anything at the top of the charts. I'm a conformist at heart.

Never much liked The Power of Love, but Back To The Future is chock full of win. Right up amongst my favourite movies of all time, along with Short Circuit. 'nother 80's classic. I can't get enough of Walking On Sunshine, but that may just be the Futurama fan in me.

Tron and The Brave Little Toaster are two of my favorite 80s movies, but Short Circuit is up on that list too. Along with Ghostbusters, UHF and Batman. As for contemporary music, right now I'm listening to Freezepop, the Bloodhound Gang and One Block Radius. Funtimes all around!

Ah yes, much love to The Brave Little Toaster and Ghostbusters, too. Toaster was on TV a week or so ago. I'd forgotten quite how... dark that movie is in places. The scenes in the electronics store and junkyard in particular were borderline horrific. And that's awesome! ;D

Short Circuit annoys me, but only because I know that the Indian guy who operates him isn't Indian at all - he's actually this guy: And yes, that's Iggy from the Super Mario Bros. Movie. Now picture him going "Oooh, Mister Johnny Five!" in that dreadful accent of his. On the plus side, he also appeared in Early Edition, which remains one of my favourite American TV shows. (Guy gets tomorrow's newspaper delivered today - brilliant!)

Fun fact - He also appeared as Phoebe's psychiatrist boyfriend that everyone hates in an early episode of Friends. Yeah, I know he's not really Indian. But maybe they couldn't find a real Indian person who was willing to make fun of their own accent like that. It takes a tough man to make a tender chicken.

This thread might as well be called "The Music Thread".

The song "Worthless" in the junkyard scene is my favorite song in an animated movies next to "Friend like me" from Aladdin.

Y'know, the beginning of the song "Cutting Edge" from BLT (sandwich, teehee) sounds so much like the opening song from Short Circuit it's scary. Can't believe I never noticed that before.
Anyone who can still throw away appliances after watching that movie is heartless. HEARTLESS!
