This was so bizarre, I had to post about it. Apparently, there's a Japanese kit that grows a real honest-to-goodness 1UP green mushroom. What you see is what you get. Altho, eating it may not be a good idea. Ack! Poison mushroom! Link: www.thinkgeek.com/stuff/41/1upmushroom.shtml

I want one. If it's not poisonous, I'd totally eat it.

That was on Joystiq months ago. It looks cool, but it's just a mushroom with some dye in it.

I don't see y it would be poisonous if it is a REAL 1-UP mushroom. Think about it: a mushroom that gives u an extra life yet it makes u vomit. That doesn't make sense.

Don't be a moron. Eating a mushroom doesn't give you an extra life in real life.
What they mean is, it's a green and white spotted mushroom, created by growing a mushroom under certain conditions (probably with special dyes). Not that it actually has magical second-chance-providing properties.
Just like real turtles don't really wear shorts under their shorts, and real plumbers don't have amazing lives filled with adventure. No. They scrub crap out of drains.

I think he was kidding, Fry. And why would turtles wear shorts under their shorts? That's madness!

Well, I found it on Digg. I don't suppose any of you actually tried adding it to your cart, eh? But if you don't like that, how about the Wireless Extension Cord? (Be sure to read the warning.)

Don't be a moron. Eating a mushroom doesn't give you an extra life in real life. Although eating certain mushrooms will give you a GAME OVER!!Just like real turtles don't really wear shorts under their shorts, and real plumbers don't have amazing lives filled with adventure. No. They scrub crap out of drains. You left out the bit where they charge you exorbitantly for the pleasure of scrubbing the aforementioned crap out of your drain.

Hah, I knew what you meant really. Though if I had a turtle, it'd be forced to wear shorts. And cool shades. ......Wireless Extension Cords?! Isn't that... some kind of paradox?

Wow, this is amazing. Immortality? Eating a mushroom can't just do that. Those chemicals just can't make it so. And also, a turtle's shell is actually a part of its skeleton. Yes, real turtles. But Koopas aren't like that, as you'd already know.
