Anyone have sales numbers for other SNES RPG's of the time for comparison? Here are the Fina; Fantasy salesAs you can see, the only time it was above 1million in the US was after 7 (Other was always lower then US). So, for a RPG, it did pretty well. Especially for the time as it beats out most of the older FF games. I did notice something though. It seems SMRPG only sold .64million in the US. It's still good for an RPG for the time, and I think we must remember the reason sales are low for the game are the same why RPGs don't preform as well as other genres.

Every game holds a special place in someone's heart. Super Mario RPG is no more of a 'big title' than a wizzleload of games that aren't going to have a character in Brawl. Here one thing I'm suggesting (and this may sound mean). If you live in a PAL territory, don't talk like the game isn't big. None of you guys have the same experience as we in America do. It's easy for you guys to say that the game was no big deal and that no one cares about the character. I know a lot of people who would love to have Geno in. There is a great number of Smash fans who want Geno in, but they are mostly in America and Japan(or at least I assume). So yes, there is a reason people want Geno in Brawl, much like there is a lot of hype around a sequel that may never come. Remember that we do have different experiences. At the least, take this into account: the game sold 2million+ between two regions, and one of which doesn't like RPG that much (they didn't get a large enough fanbase in the West till FF7) and lots of people want to see the character again. As loud as the fanbase is, there is a sizable number of people. You can tell just by the sales numbers. Sorry to get on a high horse, but the people who seem to be arguing he's small time are people from PAL areas. Now, one an actual note, what was this rumor about? May someone give me the details?

If you don't know who Tin Star is, and you live in America... You don't know your gaming history... ...and those who don't know their gaming history should not have a say in this. LAWL Why does everyone mess up that quote like an idiot. SMRPG weas a big title and is holds a special part in people's hearts. No one cares about Tin Star. There is a reason not many people know of these games.

EDIT: Fantastic quote, I think, from a guy at Smash World Forums: "If you don't know who Geno is, and you live in America or Japan...You don't know your gaming history... ...and those who don't know their gaming history should not have a say in this" Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.... no. Do you live in Japan or America? Also, the blog in the link deleted the post. What did it say?

Pichu didn't even make in the Melee poll.. So how is 0 higher than 8? And Oguma was pretty high considering he ranked #3 in the FE category (#2 went to miscellaneous FE characters). *checks* Opp, your right. Pichu wasn't on there. I thought he was (with something in the teens) and that's how he got cloned. Oguma only made a 8. Marth clearly won there. Agreed, in almost every aspect. Although, we must remember this is Sakurai. There are more franchise then I expected. We have 6 already. But a lot of the new ones, like Pikmin and Takamaru's franchise (don't know the name >.<), assume they are in, will get one character. So, with this in mind, it's not unlikely to see Star Fox get three characters. On that note, remember that it's not as much wether or not the franchise is worthy for X amount of characters, but how much interest there is for those characters. Take WarioWare for instance. It has been doing relatively well in sales (prove me wrong if I am) and critical response. But there will probably be only one character, while a franchise like Starfox, which has been on the down, would get 2 or 3. No one cares about WarioWare characters, but we do care about Falco and Krystal. Ridley=Charizard?: I agree with Masamune that Charizard and Ridley are different. They may share an attack, but they will probably be unique characters. Ridley has more of a smaller frame (just more spaced out verses Charizard) which would make a different movement and Masamune already mentioned the moves. Tough Generation: Yes, the DS symbol does have Wii Music, but I wouldn't say that that means it's more then DS stuff. It would not be out of the question to simply use music for the course. The DS is hot stuff in Japan, so a DS franchise would not be farfetched. We really can't judge it on that alone. @tv Eye: The Geno rumor was decomfirmed

Yes, the clones threw out at least three characters: Wario (Dr. Mario), Oguma (Roy), and Meowth (Pichu). The rest at least were on the Melee poll. That's what I believe what happened. Just like Lucas threw Ness out of Brawl. Those probably aren't the three characters. Mewoth only made an 8 and was still lower then Pichu, and Oguma wasn't that high to beging with. The two characters, from what I've heard who were kicked were Sigurd and Pit.

Before I say anything else, I want to say Good Job. It is all sound and make sense and can be backed up.
But I do want to point something out.
So finally, we come to Meowth but Sakurai didn't have the time to make a moveset for Meowth, so we got Pichu, another quick and easy clone to bump the roster numbers.
You must remember that characters just don't get in. Even though Meowth was next in line, he still had an 8. Sakurai doesn't add characters to the franchise for the heck of it. If Meowth has a 69 like some other characters, then he stood a chance. It's with this way with many characters. It's not that he ran out of time. The clones only threw out a character or two.
@tv Eye:Importance still matter. Why would you add a character that isn't important, or doesn't have popularity.

I'll be honest, I was expecting a certain character, but I gotta love the idea for this item. Very nice, but I know people will want to turn it off. It is a fair item. Just like in Air Ride, in order to complete the item, you must fight over it. Two things I noticed. Mario and Kirby have a lot of items. The Kirby part I don't think becuase Sakurai works on this and Kirby, but that the franchise has a lot of usable items. The other is GOD are there a lot of items in this game. Most of the ones from Melee are returning and now we have a slew of new ones, some that haven't been added to the Dojo. Also, cool sig lastridefeliz123. EDIT: kirbychu: No, he was indeed involved with Air Ride. He left after that game Here

When I first saw it, I thought it was the downloadable content we all wanted, then it turned out to be something we all knew about.

I think it should be the 10th. Otherwise, they are breaking the street date. Of course, they will have it in the stores on the 7th.

I'm going to wait until all the 2007 Updates have been made. Today was the last update of the year. Mine was Wifi. We all knew it was in the game, but the confirmation of it was well worth it.

Maybe the max exceeds 999? Pikmin trophies also give me hope for Olimar. Icon 19 maybe.
Now, this is a great update, but I'm not as excited about it. I think I've gotten to the point where I just want the game. I'll love this mode when the game is out, but right now I'm a little more ancious(may someone give me the spelling for this one) for the characters and stages.
