I had this idea for a game and I though I'd run it buy you guys Title: Nintendo RPG Story: An evil force is attacking the worlds or Odnetnin. Now all the world is raped in a veil of darkness. Now the Nintendo heros must banned to stop it. Chose a Nintendo character and go out to the Nintendo worlds to try and stop these creatures and the new "Dark Alliance". If you fail it could be Game Over for good Gameplay: It works like the Mario RPGs. You in battle and you press buttons and other actions to deal greater damage. Hit A just as you hit colides to deal a second hit. Skills force you do do differend actions like hit a button at the right time or to tilt the controler back andf forth. Later ion the game you'll get a super attack witch has a harder button command. Characters: Heres how it works. In the begining you chose your party leader. Through out the game your party will grow and you'll have new allies. You can switch out any part memebr except your leader. Heres the cast so far Mario Luigi Peach Bowser DK Link Zelda Samus Yoshi Kirby Fox Pikachu C. Falcon Ness Ice Climbers Marth Each character can equip a weapon and badges depending on there BP. Unlike PM though everyone can equip badges and some badges may only be for sertain characters. WorldsThis game works on a Hub system. You start at Smash Stadium and you go to other world from there, so its like M&L:Partners in Time. Here they are in order 1)Animal Crossing 2)DK island 3)Eagleland 4)Hyrul 5)Planet Zebs(the Metroid world area) 6)Dream Land 7)Lylax System 8)Pokemon Stadium 9)Fire Emblem world(from the first one) 10)Mushroom Kingdom 11)Icicle Mountain/Final Destination Some world you may have to return to later in the game(most notably Eagleland)
Thats the jist of it. If there any segestions let me know. I would like to add a world or 2 and another character might be good(no more then 20 though).

One question before I ask anything else. Do you plan to actually make this, or is this just a fantasy?

Maybe they could release it under the name SSB:RPG. Smash Stadium would obviously be a reference to SSB, so why not calling it SSB? Calling it Nintendo RPG might not attract as many people as SSBRPG. But I don't think putting RPG in a title would be very good either... how about SSB: Worlds?
Good idea, but how did the characters meat? How do they get to each different world? To me that's the most puzzling.
Also it would be cool if the RPG was canon to the participating games' stories. I probably wouldn't like it if it wasn't.

I've considered making a Nintendo themed RPG with RPG Maker several times. I never got around to actually doing it, but I did come up with part of the story. Basically, you played the son of Professor Hector(Who I planned on naming Mark). Hector built a machine that can create portals to other worlds. But when he dissapears Mark has to go looking for him. I planned on having character, worlds, or items from these series appear in the game:
Animal Crossing Gyromite Mario Zelda Pokemon Kirby Star Tropics Super Smash Bros. Happy Panechu Ossu! Tatakae! Ouedan! Brain Age Game & Watch Knight Move
That's all I was sure of.

^good idea. Fits well.
The ncharacters meet because Smash Stadium is where all the characters battle. You'll meet the 1st on in Animal Crossing after you beat him/her. You get the next on on DK Isles and will be able to chose your party. After world 3 your party will allow you to have 4 party memebrs. To change members you must go to a lounge and trade memebrs. (your first party memeber is random).
To get to worlds you must enter portals in Smash Stadium. You can access new ones after you beat a world. these a girl in the tavern that will assist you and she'll get you to new worlds. You can reenter any world though the portals.

Interesting ideas! Does this mean that all the nintendo characters you have listed are allies or just forming a temporary truce until the 'dark alliance' wotsit is defeated? Another thing: I love RPG's and the Mario style RPG's are gradually becoming a favourite of mine (especially seems as though it grew from my two favourite companies).
I would like to be involved in this game idea if it is ok with Smashchu and with more info i could come up with some more ideas to throw in.
I was thinking about the dark alliance too: How about Ganondorf as the leader of the alliance after the fall of the gerudo tribe? It would make a lot of sense for him to set up an alliance like this. Other alliance members would include: Dark Samus Dark Link Wolfen King Dedede Blood Falcon and hey whatever else might come along. Of course this are only ideas, dismiss them as you will. Later!

Heres the 'Dark Alliance' member I had so far By worlds 2)King K. Rool 3)Gigyas(you wont fight him the first time you get to Eagleland 4)Ganondorf 5)Mother Brain(and the rest of the space pirates) 6)O(the ruler of the Dark matter). He controls K. Dedede 7)Andross 8)Mewtwo 9)Whoever was the Final boss of Fire Emblem(the first one) 10)Mega Bowser(not the regular Bowser) 11)The master of the 'Dark Alliance' I like the guys you mentioned Nas. Also everyone is free to add there ideas to this game. I may add them as other fights within the worlds
And if I was to add a nother worlds it would be from one of these games *Kid Icarus *Advance Wars(a.k.a. Famicon Wars) *Pikmin *Golden Sun *Drill Dozer Custom Robo might make a cool place but I dont think I'll make it 1.
And all the characters can be put in your party and selected from the begining.
EDIT: If Wario isn't a character then Wario and Waluigi will fight you throughout the game. Wether they are part of the alliance or not is unkown. I may add Jill as a character to have another heavy weight.

Golden Sun is one of my favourite games and it would be interesting to include Isaac and Felix into the team (the good guys anyway) and maybe some of the other characters. I like the idea of using the bosses of the normal games to be the bosses at the end of each world when working together, that would make it more challenging.

Hm. I've been planning one of these myself. It's still pretty early, but mine works more like a cross between Fire Emblem, Paper Mario and Smash Bros. I haven't really wrote down anything....maybe I'll post something once I get it onto paper.

Hmmmmmm....... Fire Emblem+Paper Mario+Smash Bros. Sounds interesting. Write down some stuff I'd like to hear it.
Now, Mega Bowser, the boss of the Mushroom Kingdom, is not Bowser himself or a brother or anythink like that. He is a enhanced clone of Bowser. You soon find out that they are prefecting the Bowser clone in order to clone all of its members (maybe because you destroyed them all). You'll fight enemies from that world(e.i. Kremlings on D.K. Island and octoroks in Hyrul) but you'll also have other foes. I call them X (after the little black enemy in Kirby 64:Crystal Shards) however there name may change due to the fact that there name is like the X parasite. The X come in many different forms and take on a simple name (e.i. X grunt, X hunter ect.) and will do different actions. They are identified by there black body and round white eyes. You must beware as they all sorts of nasty attacks like infesting enemys or even cloning dark versons of your party.
I may add Issac and Jill as allies as well. Jill will not her own world but characters from it may apper. Other characters who dont have a world may also apper such as Drake Redcrest(if Chibi-Robo is 1st or 2nd party that is) and Pros. Hector. Black Shadow will also be a boss since there is no F-Zero world(mostly because you wouldn't have many random battles and what not) but I dont know where(maybe Smash Stadium).

Heh. I think we've all had Nintendo RPG ideas at some point My idea was that there was a major hub where "developers" worked in... basically "Tron" to keep the worlds of the Nintendo Universe in check. However a company in the real world, Macrosoft (dun dun dun!) has uploaded a small glitch into the programming, that is slowly consuming and deleting pieces of the NU as we know it. A young boy, Shigeru, is sucked into his game system and becomes a hero as he joins up with Nintendo characters to save the world, both his and that of Nintendo, from the evil glitch and its mother corporation. Battle works more like Final Fantasy. Shigeru fights with a beam sword as his main weapon, and learns magic and skills by equipping items and bringing them into battle (an AP system). Party members are mostly Nintendo characters, though there are a few original characters as well that join the party (such as a female lead from Hyrule who is actually somebody in the real world). The mechanic for the Nintendo characters works in a story-driven fashion, but then, and as well, a reward system. For example, the first dungeon you have the Mario Bros. in your party, but lose them directly after. Many Nintendo characters come in and out of your party as the story sees fit. But at the same time, after they've played a part, you can earn them by going on sidequests and proving your worth. Others are completely optional and wouldn't join your party in the first place unless you went out of your way (i.e. Mewtwo). There's also a Summon system (but like the old school summons, not the stupid ones that join battle and have HP and crap), where you can summon characters like Kamek, Wario and Waluigi, Jigglypuff, etc. who wouldn't normally be playable characters in your party. Each character has special skills, similar to FF4 or FF6, that sets them apart from the others. For example, Kirby can copy enemies and learn all their skills for that battle. Samus can alter the beam alignment of her Fight command, and has the additional option to Charge for a turn, doubling her offensive power. All in all, there's a lot of options for you to choose from. The worlds are your expected fare, like Mushroom Kingdom, Hyrule, Dreamland, Yoshi's Island, etc., but there's a few special ones here and there, and characters whose worlds are not represented do appear. Plenty of minigames; there's a mock F-Zero mode, and the ability to capture Pokemon to use as one-time summons from the Safari Zone or in small-time tournaments. The game will ooze with Nintendo nostalgia and euphoria. Oh, and I'd expect it to be long, and with a ridiculous final boss with like... a million different forms

Well, here's the setup for the first few stages:
Mario is heading to Peach's Castle for some cake (surprise!), when suddenly he is hit by some unknown being. It turns out to be Link, who has been thrust through a dimensional gate. Navi explains to Mario what happened (since Link never talks, which will continue here), and the two spot Bowser's Clown Car heading in the direction of Peach's castle. The first stage is set in the Mushroom Kingdom fields and is small, with Goombas, two Koopas (guarding a captured Luigi) and a Hammer Brother boss. The second stage is Toad Town, which adds in Shy Guys (who act as character guards and will offer funny conversations when you first attack them), normal Hammer Brothers and a new boss, Boom Boom. The third stage is the castle and adds in Lakitus and Spinies, plus will feature Kamek and Kammy Koopa as its bosses. Here Samus will travel through a dimensional gate and join your party, while you can rescue Mike Jones from the cells below from his Shyguy guards. One feature will be that there are multiple levels to fight on. For example, Peach's castle has four floors - the basement, the main floor, the upper level, and the roof. After beating those two, Bowser will send you into a forgotten land...Angel Land! You'll meet Pit and Zeus, and begin traveling through two stages to reach Medusa. I haven't scripted these as deeply, so I'll update it later.
That's the level design so far, and the combat system I'm still tweaking, but it does work like Smash Bros., Fire Emblem and Paper Mario put together. The maps are grid based, and like Fire Emblem, distance does determine what you'll use. For example, Goombas can only attack upclose, but Koopas can send shells at you, Hammer Brothers can throw hammers, etc. Some characters can't attack upclose - Lakitu can only chuck Spiny eggs from a distance, for example. Each character you control has four attacks. Some can be done upclose, some at a distance, and some can be done either way. For example, Mario's moves are Fireball, Hammer, Jump and Cape. Mario can only use his Fireball at a distance, but he can use his Hammer either way (the Hammer does less damage as a distance weapon, mind you.) His Cape is a defensive tool that reflects distance attacks. It does not damage foes. Upclose, it has a chance of dizzying an enemy. Another feature of these attacks is that they can upgrade into Magical attacks. Each character has MP that can be spent into more powerful default moves or special moves that they can find via items or experience. Mario can upgrade his Fireball into a Fire Flower (like Smash Bros., does extra damage but can only be done upclose) and Fire Storm (from SMRPG, a flurry of fireballs that punish opponents). One of his special moves could be the Tanooki Suit, which would prevent him from taking any damage for a turn. I've got a lot more planning to do, but I'll post up some more when I get more time to work on it. ^^

I like your idea. Seems more like Kingod Hearts then mine is. It seems odd but I want to play that game now. Can you tell us some of the areas and characters? I actually made a .txt file not too long ago with my ideas, so let me refer to that I actually didn't write down what individual characters could do, but I recall a lot of that stuff in my own head, so that's good. Areas: Mushroom World--largest, split into Mushroom Kingdom, Yoshi's Island, Dark World/Valley of Koopa, and Kongo Isles Enemies: All your generic Mario enemies, depending on where you're at in the world. The most dangerous? The Hammer Bros. and their crew, and the many varieties of Magikoopa lurking about. Bosses: Bowser, Kamek and Kammy, Koopalings, K. Rool, Wario and Waluigi, Captain Syrup, and others (like Lava Pirahna, and the optional Hellbent Magikoopa) Hyrule--not as large overall, but many nooks and crannies. Lots of caves and places to explore Enemies: Basic Zelda fare. Most common are Octorocks and Deku Baba. Moblins tend to be tougher, but eventually you start running into wild Aquamentus and Dodongo, which spells trouble for the party. Bosses: Ganon/dorf, Twinrova, Trinexx, and all that other good stuff Dreamland--very bright and cheery. Not a lot of threats here, other than Dark Matter.... Enemies: Nothing dangerous. They're all pretty easy, save Scarfies, which are immune to most everything. Bosses: King Dedede, Meta Knight, Dark Matter, O 2Planet Zebes--dank and spooky, probably the most "backtracky" area of the game. Many hidden rooms and exits. Enemies: All the Zebesian pirates are pushovers, and the fauna aren't too hard. The only real threats are the Metroids, which you need to freeze first... Bosses: Mother Brain, Ridley, Kraid. You expect more? Angel Land--sort of like the "Mt. Olympus" of this game, the area itself is fairly short. Rather you're just battling, a lot, through the Sky Palace till you reach Medusa. Has a cool Coliseum minigame. Enemies: Typical Kid Icarus foes. When you do the Coliseum, you start running into enemies from other parts of the game. Metroids are very rare, but do appear as regular enemies once in a blue moon. Eggplant Wizard will appear, solo or as part of a group, and he will turn your party into Eggplants if you don't act fast. Bosses: Medusa, Pandora, Hydra, Minotaur, maybe some others Kanto--You only get a small sample of the entire region, but it's enough. Contains a new Safari Zone, with a bevy of monsters you can capture for use as one-time Summons in battle or to use in a Pokemon tournmant held at the Plateau. Enemies: You do fight Wild Pokemon, and they do act like regular enemies. That being said, it's a mix of generations, but you do only fight them in tall grass/water/etc. Bosses: Mewtwo, who you can beat one way to make a party member. Optionally, you can fight Lugia, Ho-oh, and Rayquaza, as well as Deoxys and Lucario. The trios are not bosses, but rather summons. Same for Kyogre and Groudon. I didn't go further than that, but there would definitely be more. I can see Eagleland, Oedo, C-Island, and Custom Robo Stadium appearing as full levels as well. F-Zero appears as a pseudo-level, where you basically bet on races and can win money for the game. And that's that for areas right now
