While I'm really crap at art, I can try and give the talented people out there some help by trying to fill in the blanks in Fryguy’s list
Battleclash - I'm not sure about this one. At first I thought a Super Scope logo could work but that's rather crappy. Maybe the Solid Snake style bandanna that Mike wears.
Excitebike - A motocross helmet
F-1 Race - A tyre or a checker flag, maybe
F-Zero - I was going to say Falcons helmet at first but you said you didn't want that. Maybe the sunburst design on Samurai Goroh headband.
Hogan's Alley - A gangster hat or a can
Kururin - The Heririn
Mach Rider - Not sure as I've already said a helmet. Maybe one of those industrial barrels at the side of the road throughout the game.
Mukashi-Banashi - I haven't played this game but from looking a the pictures, maybe a scroll.
Pilotwings - I'm not sure, maybe a target.
Punch-Out!! - A boxing glove
Starfy - I haven't played this game much and from what little I did play I couldn't see anything instantly iconable. Maybe a trident as some bad guys had them.
Tantei Club - I haven't played this game but from looking a the pictures, maybe a notepad.
Urban Champion - A Popeye style muscular arm or a manhole
Vegas Stakes - The ace of spades card or the lucky 7
Wild Gunman - A cowboy hat or a pistol
I'm not sure if my suggestions are any good and am sorry that I'm not artistic enough to help in actually make any icons, but if any of my suggestions are doable then that's good.

The first StarFox art is awesomely scary-looking. Even Slippy looks like a frog, rather than a cute pea. I like a lot of your ideas Mr. Findlay. I would say a definite yes to: F-1 Race, Hogan's Alley (can), Kururin, Mukashi-Banashi, Punch-Out!!, Vegas Stakes (card). I also think a cowboy hat would be the best idea for Wild Gunman, but I suck at hats... always have...  Battleclash is a problem, and will either end up being the Super Scope, or indeed the bandana idea (I quite liked that). F-Zero is also a problem... I'd prefer no character-specific icons if possible... but that's very hard in a series like F-Zero. The Trident for Starfy is also tempting, but at the same time not an icon for the series. But that's a hard one, and will probably be one of the last to be decided on. I'd prefer Mach Rider's helmet to the Excitebike helmet. I'd rather think up something else for Excitebike (perhaps... and this is a wild stab in the dark... an Excitebike?)  Narf, I like your 1080 one a lot... but I am going to turn it diagonally. Also, if you could re-GIF some of those earlier ones you did, that'd be excellent, and I'll put them onto the page. Notably the Animal Crossing, Duck Hunt, Wars (the first one), and the Game & Watch ones. I'm still torn on the Pikmin one... but if you re-GIF that one as well, I expect it'll be used Here's some more I've done:    1. Doshin the Giant 2. Fire Emblem 3. These are all quite neat.
F-Zero I can see is a problem without using Falcon's symbol. Play F-Zero X and look for something...

I've been going through just about all the F-Zero games and I can't find any sort of "symbol" used to any extent that wasn't character specific.
