But Rare was a second party at the time, right? Does that means Second Party games not published by Nintendo don't count?

I'm confused,
NOT THAT I AM AGAINST THIS IDEA OF HAVING FRANCHISE ICONS,
but what's the point of having franchises icons?

but what's the point of having franchises icons? 1) They're fun. 2) They look good. And there are probably many other reasons for having them.

I'm converting the franchise list into the new list format, which for the game lists has boxart on the left. I couldn't have boxart there, because there's no overall "franchise" boxart. So I came up with a few ideas. I toyed with official artwork, I toyed with the first-screenshot in each series, and then I toyed with a silhoutted icon, like they use in the background in the Super Smash Bros. results screens. The third idea not only looked good, but eliminated a lot of the problems the other two had (sometimes the first game in a series doesn't look much like other games in the series... like Super Mario) So there you go. We are now nearly done with all of the franchise icons, and I just have to finish converting the individual franchise lists themselves (which have screenshots where the boxart usually goes). Then you will see how good it all looks To address the earlier question: Second party games not published by Nintendo do not count as Nintendo games. In these very rare cases (Conker's BFD and Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes are the only two I can think of) they may well be given a page in the future. In the not-quite-as-rare cases where Nintendo itself develops a game that is published by another company, that will be included somewhere at some point. There's two of these on the Gamecube already: Pac Man VS. and Legend of Golfer. They will be given pages at some point.

In what way was Nintendo involved with Cruisn' Exotica? They published the two previous volumes of the series for the N64, but did they have anything to do with the Arcade versions?

Yeah, Nintendo and Midway set up a joint venture called (imaginatively) "Nintendo / Midway". Together they released the Cruis'n games.
But yes, even Cruis'n Exotica has the Nintendo logo on the cabinet.

Does Nintendo/Midway still exsist? Midway hasn't been making many games for Nintendo systems lately.

I am abit suspicious about the Cruisn Series, I think Miday actually came up with the idea of publishing it. Nintendo just helped developed it
That's what I think.

I think being one of the first two N64 games ever shown (the other being Killer Instinct Gold) led Nintendo to develop this joint venture for the Cruis'n series.
But no, I don't think Nintendo / Midway exists any more... but I'll have to check a more recent financial report from them before confirming it. There was a Cruis'n game released on GBA by Konami (I think) which I thought was a bit odd.

The Icon for Riddles of Murasume Castle will be katana ? I wish there was a successor someday. I likeMedieval Japan comparing to Inuyasha and Rorouni Kenshin.

I reckon it'd be a great game to provide a sequel for now. Nintendo is after some more mature franchises, and they have a small selection, but if they appeared with an awesome samurai adventure then that would be awesome. But regardless of what Nintendo is after, I want to see a 3D sequel to Joy Mecha Fight

Not only do I question the Cruisn series but also, Street Fighter and Bomberman. I don't think Nintendo fully developed it.

They didn't develop them... they PUBLISHED at least TWO games in each series. The games they published were licensed by the companies that own them.
So Street Fighter has nothing to do with Nintendo and they don't have any rights to the Street Fighter series, but they did published two Street Fighter games in North America instead of Capcom... those games are included on this site (where any game PUBLISHED by Nintendo is welcome) and so they get their own game list on the site.... under "Licensed Franchises" - which means Nintendo has no rights to them, and may not have even developed any of them. But they did publish them.

So, getting back on the subject: the franchises that still need icons are:
-Cruis'n -Ice Climber -Tantei Club -Nazo No Murasame Jou -Mach Rider -Picross -Starfy -Tantei Club -Killer Instinct -Popeye -R.C. Pro-Am -Sim City -Street Fighter
But they might be more, if some of Narf's latest bunch liscenced series icons need to be done differently for some reason.
Did we go over ROB and Hector already? And by "we" I mean all those other people who, unlike me, are actually helping with anything having to do this franchise icons idea.

ROB has an icon, and I've done the Killer Instinct one now as well (but sadly it'll be a bit slow as I'm determined to finish the NES and GB sections before I move now).
Cruis'n and Nazo no Murasamejou don't have pages yet, so they're not necessarily going up just yet. Also, at present, series of spinoffs will be found underneath the main games section of each list. I may separate cameos from the page for the larger lists (Mario, Zelda, Donkey Kong) before moving on to the others, as otherwise they'll be too huge.
