Play as baby Mario, baby Luigi, baby Peach and baby Donkey Kong (!!!) (all riding Yoshis, of course). Story is something about a floating island.
Oh, who cares, its Yoshi's Island 2. Simple as that.
I heart Nintendo.

Yoshi's Island was the best game ever. This game is going to have to put some serious effort into recreating the atmosphere, mechanics and ingenious level design to match its predecessor. With all these 2D Mario adventures we've been getting, I feel spoiled!  |

Seems that your abilities change depending on which baby you are carrying at that time. DK swings you all over the gaff.

I can't find pics... only the video shows DK. I'm sure I saw ONE screenshot... might have been on the US website. But it doesn't look like DK Junior, you'll be glad to know. A giant island has appeared in the sky and kidnapped all the children of Yoshi's Island Preschool or something. Only Mario, Peach and DK have escaped, and with their Yoshi friends they have to investigate this island and free the other children. An opportunity for more baby characters, perhaps? Baby Waluigi!! Yes!!  |

And use, baby Wario and Waluigi would be awesome - maybe they could be the school's bullies or something.

Baby Peach is in the video. She uses her parasol to add distance to Yoshi's flutter jump.
Bleh... I guess gorillas don't live that long, so it could be Cranky, and he just aged super fast, and they're all still in their 30s, and somehow DK Jr. aged really fast into "Super" DK too. Stupid babies.

And if you're trying to work it out logically, don't forget the new Mario vs. DK game, which would suggest the tie-wearing DK is the same as girder-climbing DK, since he is Mario's 'old friend' and knows Pauline.
So, in other words, its impossible to work out, and, besides, the entire idea of Mario canon is useless (why, for example, are the sports games non-canon? Surely Mario can get together with a bunch of friends and foes and play some sport without it being too crazy for their universe to handle?).

I imagine Mario Sports games aren't canon for the same reason Shadow Battle isn't canon for the Zelda Universe. There's two possible explanations for this DK mess: 1.Nintendo has retconned the DK games. Cranky is no longer the original DK. 2.The DK you see in Mario games is the old DK. The DKC games take place many years later in the Mario Universe after DK has become Cranky. |

1.Nintendo has retconned the DK games. Cranky is no longer the original DK. This is most likely the only way to handle the situation, and what I suspect Nintendo's current stand is. Cranky was supposed to be the original Donkey Kong, but they have chosen to ignore so they can bring the Country games in league with the Mario games. 2.The DK you see in Mario games is the old DK. The DKC games take place many years later in the Mario Universe after DK has become Cranky. This is hard to stick... because then you have to explain away Diddy Kong and anything else from the Country games that appears in Mario games. Admittedly, that only tends to happen in the spinoffs, but I see them as a little bit canon... |

I've stopped my bickering, so you can all stop discussing it. I can see why DKVine is so hated now, so I'll keep it zipped. NOW, do you think Kamek will once again be gracing us with his presence?  I can't WAIT to see what crazy bosses they have for us to fight this time. And I really do enjoy the use of the dual screens, to make the levels taller. |

It all depends on who is in control of the floating island. I guess if it's Bowser then there's no reason why Kamek shouldn't return. I do like his skits in Yoshi's Island and M&L... especially when Baby Bowser wakes up.
