8 players would be awesome. Smash is supposed to be frantic, so another level of frantic-ness can't hurt.

Gah. My computer can't display Japanese text, so I can't copy and paste a translation from Google. Anyone know how to update my PC so it can read Japanese symbols? Could be your browser. Try google. If you still cant get it then its your computer and I dont know from there As for 8player matches that would be to much. Maybe 6. |

Yeah, I'm thinking if it does get increased at all that 6 would be nicer than 8, but I'd much rather they stick with 4.
While SSB is a frantic game, I don't think it was made just to be frantic. I feel that adding 4 more players would increase the franticness past its 'threshold', so to speak, so that the frantic nature of the game became more confusing than genuine fun. 6 would probably as well, but it could be managable.
I still say stick with 4, though.

I think 4 -player frantic is far better than 8-player chaos. With all the items and the new Smash items that enable screen clearing moves, tracing your character would be a bigger challenge than performing hte right move at the right time. In other words, it'd be too much. The camera would also have to scale back so far that the characters would be like ants in a large stage. which doesn't sound that fun to me. As for clones, I think Ganondorf and Young Link should stay, with different moves. Here's my Young Link design from my Nintendo Vs. Capcom idea I talked about before: Melee Young Link is a bit weaker than his Adult version that is in the game, but is a little slower than Young Link from the last game. His Bow attack is identical to Link’s. His Boomerang can be charged to hit all of the other players for less damage than just hitting one (unlike Link's, which when charged unleashes a tornado). His Spin Attack is the same in the air, but the ground version can move like Mario’s Tornado move. Instead of a Hookshot, Young Link uses the Gust Jar to suck in opponents for throws. Note that the Gust Jar can't latch onto cliffs. He loses his bomb, but instead gets: Grappling Hook - Can be used to latch onto a ledge in the air, but on the ground will steal a heart or the item a character is wielding. Has a one second warm up. Deku Leaf - Can be used on the ground to smack enemies and push them away. In the air, it can act as a hover device for 2 sec. Mole Mitts - Young Link will dig a hole, which can stun opponents if not blocking. Does mild damage. His Smash icon move would be the Four Sword (Link will summon 3 other Links to perform a Spin Attack alongside him). Sakurai did say he can drop any character he doesn't feel needs to be in this game, so anyone who hasn't been revealed is not safe.  Save Capt. Falcon! |

Now that my computer is fixed, I've come to realize that I am the last person in the world to find out about SSBB.
IT'S NEVER TOO LATE! OMG THIS IS FREAK'N AWESOME!!!!!!!!!
It seems as though "everyone" has a sword. And Solid Snake is in it. And you play on a platform rather than the actual Halburg(?). And there's a Nintendog. And Link looks really old.
NONE OF IT MATTERS BECAUSE IT'S STILL FREAK'N AWESOME!!!!!!!!!

Hmmm, I just had a thought. What will Solid Snake Kirby look like? Or Zero Suit Samus Kirby? I think Snake Kirby will get Snake's headband, and Zero Suit Samus Kirby will probaly get her hair. And I pray to God that when Kirby copies Meta Knight, he puts on his Sword Kirby hat and not some retarded looking Meta Knight Hat.

Hopefully Snake Kirby will have stubble and being smoking a cig, and will inherit a neck-snapping ability.
And hopefully Zero-Suit Kirby wears the skin tight suit.
Zero-Suit Samus is actually the character I'm most disappointed about. Traditionally in the Metroid games, seeing Samus without her suit is like the ultimate prize. Now she's one of the first characters we know about. IMO she should have been one of the last unlockable characters.

Just saw the awesome characters' page!  Sakurai is the MAN. Oh, I am finally excited for Pit.. Thank you. Thank you so much *sobs uncontrollably* And no, I'm not being facetious. It's finally happened  When Kirby copies Pit, I expect it to look like his Cupid power, with hair. Meta Knight-- Probably just gets his mask and the Galaxia Snake-- Kirby gets a five o'clock shadow, mullet, and a bandana XD Zero Samus-- Kirby gets a ponytail and her gun Wario-- Kirby wears that awesome headgear with the goggles, MAYBE gets a Wario 'stache, like how he gets the Bowser brows  |
