Joystic has pictures and info on Super Smash Bros. Brawl! But IGN has more now.At an after-hours press briefing a mere minute ago, the company pulled another ace out of its sleeve: Smash Bros. Brawl -- the next installment in Nintendo's popular Super Smash Bros. series. Mario, Kirby, Pikachu and Link have been confirmed as returning characters. Wario, Pit, Solid Snake, Meta-Knight, and "no-suit" Samus from Metroid: Zero Mission are confirmed new characters. One new item is a Nintendog. It will run up to the screen and put it's paws on it, blocking the view. Online multiplayer confirmed. Single Player mode to be "very robust". Relase date is 2007, not launch.

Hm, quite intriguing. Snake is a surprise...not every day a M-rated hero pops up to battle Mario and Pikachu. Pit and Wario are both choices I've had, and Meta-Knight is a solid choice. I wonder if Samus' no-suit is her permament costume or if clones will be back...let's hope some more original characters sneak in. ^^ (since Konami's in, I suppose other third-party character may appear...heh)

Well, her art at IGN shows her with armor, so my guess is that it's a different costume or a clone.

Wow, I didn't even notice IGN had a trailer until now.
It looks like this game's going to have some kind of story...
I want this game more than anything now.
The trailer seemed to show a new item, the Smash symbol.
It seemed to give everyone some kind of awesome one hit kill power. Mario shot a stream of fire across the stream that hit everybody, Link went insane on Mario with a "Triforce slash," and Kirby turned into Cook Kirby and...cooked Mario.
Or maybe I'm just misinterpreting what I saw, I dunno.

Hm, looks like they implimented a move similar to what I was originally designing my NvC design with. Heh. I call them Ultra moves...I wonder what they'll call them here. It does look right though. Samus has a Phazon Beam like blast, too.

Certainly very surprsing, but very great, news.
Looks like theres alot of fan service going on, what with Metaknight being shown (him going in was fairly inevitable, but him being one of the first shown seems like it was designed to please the fanboys).
And Snake? Very, very interesting. I wonder what the Ninty fanboys are thinking now?

I say NO NO NO NO NO and NO!!!! What does he has to do there? It's the NINTENDO mascots fight game!!! I'm really angry about that decision. As if the name Wii wasn't bad enough.

"Daaaaaaaaaaaaaamn" as in "Daaaaaaaaaaaaaamn thats good, I love Solid Snake", "Daaaaaaaaaaaaaamn thats bad, I hate Solid Snake", "Daaaaaaaaaaaaaamn that means Sonic's a chance, and thats good", "Daaaaaaaaaaaaaamn that means Sonic's a chance, and thats bad", or "Daaaaaaaaaaaaaamn those idiots on the internet suggesting 3rd party characters were dead right, I owe them some virtual dollars and/or virtual cookies"?

That video started out so cool. First MetaKnight, then Pit comes in looking sooooo awesome.Then....Samus....another one. I guess this means we'll still have Dr. Mario, Y. Link and Pichu? Then Wario comes and makes me pretty much forget about the whole two Samus thing. Then out of no where the Metal Gear things comes up. Why? SSB is about NINTENDO characters. Having him in SSB is like putting Bugs Bunny in Kingdom Hearts. It just doesn't make sense.
Ah, crap. I just realised that Eric Stuart will probably be doing the voice of MetaKnight. This sucks.

Surely we could wait at least 24 hours before bagging the hell out of this? Ah well, the good news is Nintendo seem to be going completely nuts on the fan service. So much so you can even SUBMIT YOUR OWN CHARACTER IDEAS. revolution.ign.com/articles/707/707671p1.htmlAnd let me be the first to welcome Sonic, since, lets face it, if he wasn't going in anyway he certainly will be after those character submissions get through.

I have nothing against Solid Snake. Pit and Wario was all I needed. Them graphics look pretty damn good against SSBM as well. I LOVE IT!! Bring on the Brawl!!
