Some SSBB things I would like to discuss with you lovely people following my repeated viewing of screenshots/video. StagesI don't know about you, but of the four stages on show, I can positively identify one of them... and have a hunch about the other. They are: 1. Sky stage - I suspect this is Pit's level. It's set on a floating island with crumbling pillars, stonework and mucho plantlife. If it wasn't for the pillars, though, it would be a tough sell. 2. Castletop stage - No idea. The red flags have a flashy design on them (not sure if it's a dragon though, guys). Fireballs are being shot from the surrounding forest. Could be Fire Emblem? Could be Twilight Princess? I have no idea. 3. Castle interior - Again, no idea. However, I did notice one screenshot taken on this stage had the same flag design as the castle top. It could be an alternate stage, or it could be part of the same stage. In the background there is another design with bat-like wings. 4. Halberd - Meta-Knight's ship from Kirby Super Star. I hope the ship does more than just fly around in the background. The Little Things That MatterRemember when you saw the SSBM screenshots and noticed the wind blew DK's tie and Peach's hair around on some stages? And remember how little quirks had been added to some characters that made them a little more alive? Well... it looks like they're back. What makes me say that? Pit of course! Aside from being completely redesigned as some kind of manga-esque uber-force for good... he has had some shiny tweaks made to himself. Notice his gold bracelets. In part of the video he pulls back his bow, and the bracelets hang in mid-air charging up his arrow, and when he releases it, they 'ping' back onto his wrist. Discuss...This game has me more excited than I could ever hope. Back to 2001's endless revisiting the official website for new pages. Keep checking the SSBB page for new stuff when it crops up - although I have trained many of you well, and I'm sure it will crop up on the forums before I find it

I say NO NO NO NO NO and NO!!!! What does he has to do there? It's the NINTENDO mascots fight game!!! I'm really angry about that decision. As if the name Wii wasn't bad enough. It just a game but indeed this is a Nintendo All Star and i still persue Takamaru-san he looks formidable and i vote for Joshua from Sacred Stones. Mario's Super Looks Radically Awesome, its like he's doing Shinkuu-Hadouken! Mario is like a Ryu Character

ha! it just came to me! the perfect Namco character to include!
DIG DUG.
and hey, if they're still doing the cloning thing, it's so simple to turn him into Susumu from Mr. Driller. =w=
but to reiterate the most important point: PLEASE, NO PAC-MAN

Solid Snake and Pit RULE!!!
Sure it may be mainly a Nintendo-Mascot game, but Solid Snake kicks ass, and thats all I have to say on the subject.
Oh, yeh by the way im loving the pre-release info on Smash Bros. brawl Fryguy, you keep us well informed. I saw the video about 50 times over, its great! ;D

Characters I hope to see:
Olimar a balloon fighter
Obscure characters I would like to see:
Stanley (he can have bug spray attacks) Spitball Sparky (to represent G&W since Mr. G&W is probably getting the boot)
As for third party characters, I wouldn't mind seeing Pac Man.

I hope Snake is the only Third-party character. Unless it's required to unlock other characters/items/stages I will never play Snake or any other non-Nintendo character in SSB.

Yeah, he probably will be, or maybe one or two more. I also hope they don't get rid of too many characters. If they are, Dr. Mario is definitely gone, along with maybe some more clones like Pichu. I don't think they'll get rid of any non-clones, because that might piss some people off. Can you imagine the uproar that would ensue if Marth were removed? As for G&W, I hope they leave him in, as he's unique and fun to play as.
EDIT: Fryguy, on your SSBB speculation page, I realize it's not fact, but I do have to wonder what you're thinking on some of the characters that could possibly get the boot. Replace Marth and Ness? Marth was one of the most popular characters from SSBM, and Ness...well, he's cool and one of the original twelve. I really think that if anyone is removed, it'll be a clone like Dr. Mario.

Seems to me Roy would be up for replacement. Marth is the original, which gives him staying power.

Unless Nintendo decide to bring Mother 3 to America, I think the chances are Ness will stay. He's the only Mother character American players are really familiar with, after all.

I thought of this a while after a saw the screen shots and video. I really have nothing to support this, but what if there were alternate costumes you could unlock? I don't mean changing colors, either.
The thing that made me think of this was the fact that Wario was in his WarioWare costume. What if his classic costume was unlockable? What about Mario? Since Dr. Mario is possibly out, it'd make a good alternate costume. So would the Hammer Bros. suit, Frog suit, or Tanooki suit. Of course, there's also the possiblity of a "justin bailey" Samus.
Purely speculation, but there it is.

^ I've always felt that the next step in the series, at least towards costumes, was to add accessories, LIKE the Tanooki Suit, Dr. suit, etc.
On another note, I'm still convinced that castle is from Fire Emblem. It's under siege, it's got a crazy wall, it's surrounded by empty fields, and they DID ditch the idea for a FE stage in Melee.
On an even further note, I think we're safe with Marth and Ness. I really doubt they'd drop those two.

I really wish for more overlooked characters to be added (including ones from Japanese titles). I don't know if Nintendo would add characters from Nintendo titles released only in other countries outside of Japan like the StarTropics series and Tin Star, but they really need to add them. Click here for the translation of the Japanese Contribution webpage.

The only character I want to get rid of from melee's cast is pichu. Also I'd like to see Diddy Kong and K.Rool put in an appearance and Young Link to be transformed into his WindWaker incarnation. As for 3rd party characters, as long as no sonic characters appear I'm happy.

Let me be clear here... on that page I explicitly state that there are some characters that I believe will be removed (Dr. Mario, Pichu, etc.) and some characters that I believe will be replaced by others in that series (Marth, Ness).
Why do I think that? Because Sakurai has said he considered dropping Ness from SSBM and replacing him with the hero from Mother 3 until it was canned. Well... Mother 3 is out now. He has a chance to stick in Flint or something. What about Marth? Well, he MIGHT go... I don't necessarily think he will... but he MIGHT be replaced with one of the more recent Fire Emblem heroes.
I don't say I want them removed and the series ignored... I just suspect they might be replaced with newer characters from their respective series.
