I called at lunchtime today - they ask you for the reference number first (which is on the confirmation email, as Morgan said) then they ask you to confirm your address - now is when you check the address on the account is the same as the one you want it delivered to. Then they ask you to confirm your age (under 12s cannot get it, and anyone between the ages of 12 and 17 has to fill in a form that says you have parental consent).
Then it's your card details they ask for. Give them that and they tell you it'll be dispatched within 48 hours, due for arrival at the end of this week or early next week. OH BABY!!!

I didn't need to bother with any of that, as I sent a personal cheque instead. You just have to send it along with a print-out of the confirmation email. I posted it off yesterday

Yes, but now you need to wait for the cheque to clear, and for the postal service to get it there.
Hahahahaa!

Hey, if Nintendo want their biggest fans in the UK to take part in this, then they can't do much better than having some NinDB readers join in! Am I right or am I right? ;D

Well, I called yesterday but apparently it's going to be 2-3 weeks before I get my DS.

Eep! Maybe you should've shouted and said "I do declare that this confirmation email guarantees my DS will be dispatched within 48 hours!"
Sounds like they weren't prepared to sell them all so quickly. Either that or they need some new managers. I better get mine within the week or I will go "grrr" and no-one wants that.

Why do Europeans always get what's best in life? I curse all Europeans and their descendants! Wait a second... *dies*

Bah, I'm just angry greedy NOA double their prices when selling products anywhere south of the United States.

The whole thing has been bit of a mess so far. Techical problems at first, apparently not actually having the paks, delivery time confusion, confusion as to what the "pre-release version" of SM64 DS actually is, questions about the warrantee and many other countless things.
Luckily though, one of the Ninty Admins created a post over in the NoE forums stating:
"In case anyone has any confusion over the DS offer. All 3000 Nintendo DS machines in this offer are European units, covered by European warrantee. The Mario cartridge in the package is US but comes with European packaging. The packaging will also contain VIP pins which will only be valid to input into your accounts from the European launch of Nintendo DS on March 11th. If you try to enter your VIP pins from this package any earlier they will not work.
I thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

It answered some of my queries, so I'm glad about that. Now all I have to put up with is the painful wait between now and when it arrives...

I was hoping the DS's wouldn't be US ones. That'd be so cheap of Nintendo. It'll be interesting to see what the serial codes are though.
I got a bit over-excited over this, my flat, and the start of the second series of "Look Around You" on BBC2. Now that the initial excitement has passed I'm just waiting for them to happen, and have calmed down a bit. Still... will be awesome when it gets here. Should've been dispatched today!

Yeah, I was like that too at first. On Friday and the weekend I was really excited about it, but now I'm just quietly waiting. After all, it's only a few days. I wish the people at the NoE forums were the same. Everyother thread is "when is my DS comin?!!?!111one1one!?!". Eurgh, and people moaning about how paying 1000 stars is way too much money to pay for P&P. Do they not realise that the stars were free in the first place?

Hey, if they don't have the stars to spare they should fork them over to someone who wants them. That's only four Gamecube games... or it's not like Nintendo requires you to have a collection like mine... where 1000 Stars is pittance.
Or it's 200 visits to the Nintendo website... or two copies of Donkey Konga... or... (for ever)

Hmm, seems like we're going to have to wait a little longer than expected to recieve them:
"Just to clarify some of the DS Offer details again, as it appears from some of the posts on the forums that some of you may have misunderstood information or have been misled from posts on the forums.
All DS machines are European machines (Not US machines).
The Mario game is the full game (US cartridge, European packaging).
T Shirts (one size) unfortunately no one processing the orders can give you any further information on the size.
All the DS packs are now with the processing company (Codestorm), as they arrived late yesterday. Contrary to some of the posts that have appeared on the site. There will be a short processing time, this is so all DS packs are complete and all the payments are complete, parental permission and postage details collate to what we have listed for you. Therefore, as you were probably told if you phoned to make payment, delivery was subject to processing and would be approximately 10 14 working days. We expect the first DS packs to be arriving with you around late next week (Working week beginning 7/2/05).
I thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

I don't know about you, but it was made clear to me that I'd be getting it late this week or EARLY next week... not late next week.
Again, maybe this depends on how you paid and whether you had to fill in a parental consent form or not. I paid by debit and didn't have to fill in a form, so mine should be quick to process. And I'm a large t-shirt size anyway... so hooray!
But I still expect it to arrive sooner rather than later... I was told it would be processed in 48 hours. Was that a lie?

Whenever Nintendo sends me stuff, a month is a good estimate on when to get it. Who knows, you might get lucky and get it on the same day as everyone else.
Although you are in England, which is a lot less land to cover, so...
