I'd say that's an acceptable mistake - Pidgeot's Japanese name is Pidgeotto, and the translators probably missed this little nugget of info. But then doesn't Ash's Pikachu have like six or seven moves or something? But that isn't the only time a Pokemon is called by the wrong name. And what about Onigiri? It's been called a donut, a popcorn-ball, and a rice ball(Might be other names. Those are the only ones I remember.). And all of this was intentional. So in "Pokemon Anime English Canon" donuts, Popcorn-balls, and rice balls are the same thing?

...so why haven't you addressed the "Zelda English Canon" problems? Because I haven't played much of OoT. Because I haven't played LttP. Because I haven't seen the LttP manual. Because I know very little about the Zelda storyline. Because I don't think there is supposed to be a definate Zelda canon. Because I think its a waste of time trying to work out a definate Zelda canon. Because I hate the word 'canon' and every argument that comes with it. Because I didn't know the answer. Because I couldn't come up with a good counter-argument. Because I enjoy not giving answers. Because I like annoying anybody that obsesses about this type of thing. Because I think its funny to not answer questions. Because I'm a jackass. Because I spend too much time coming up with ridiculous crap like this. Because I love you. Pick one. Or more.

Because you all switched the topic. Argh!
All I've been talking about is Vivian's gender.... since when did you switch to Zelda games and Pokémon anime? My...
But then, about the canon thing, I'd say... just consider them different stories. This way you won't have to think much.

Vivian is male, but they called him female in the English version. Now we are discussing whether or not the English version is canon.

Yes but if that's true then how come she's a member of the three shadow SIRENS. I believe that, traditionally at least, the term sirens is indictive of a person who happens to be of female gender.

Traditionally, yes. But that's like saying hairdressers are traditionally female. Even the undead like to mix it up with some liberal attitudes, y'know! Poultergeistical Correctness!
