We all play video games for fun, but sometimes I look for games that are relaxing. That is, not an intense game, like Resident Evil 4, Soul Calibur II or F-Zero GX. Just something I can play at a leisurely pace, mess around if I feel like it, or even just appreciate the pretty graphics.
I tend to play games like that if I'm feeling a little down or tired. One game I seem to gravitate towards at times like that is The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. It's colorful and pretty, and just sailing around is kinda nice. Although it's not a Nintendo game, Shenmue on the Dreamcast is also a very relaxing game because of its beauty and casual pace.
Do any of you ever feel this way? What games make you feel relaxed?

Zelda: WW relaxing? Need I remind you of the many times of my failed leaps and traps? A "relaxing" game must not make you throw your controller or Game Boy at the nearest wall, maybe something 3rd party you can get cheap, like "The Sims: Bustin' Out".

Doesn't the very existence of The Sims: Bustin' Out make you want to throw your controller? And anything else in the vicinity for that matter!
On the Gamecube, the most relaxing game I own is Doshin the Giant. It's slow, with days split into half-hour increments. Unlike, say, Animal Crossing, you can always find something to do that isn't endless repetition. Build an island home, climb a mountain, or see how big you can grow.
On handhelds I tend to gravitate towards untimed puzzle modes of puzzle games. You know the ones - they tax your brain but you're not penalised for trying to work them out. Although I am a little put off Brain Training's Sudoku puzzles, just because I've completed so many of them before (and got so good at them) that now I find them fairly boring.
Polarium Advance is a good one, as are the Tetris DS puzzle modes and the endless fun that is Puzzle League puzzle mode - same puzzles since the SNES, but it still takes me ages to remember how I completed them ;D

Chibi-Robo is generally a relaxing game. Depending on how you play it, Pikmin 2 is relaxing if you're going slowly.

Polarium Advance will have your brain being exploded in the later puzzles, so I don't recommend it to those who are not used to puzzlers.
You may want to try some slow-paced games if you like. Or you may also want to try some games divided into sessions, where you can just try again if you lose, like the Mario Party games.
But then, if you don't feel like playing games at all, you may also want to try some music games, or just listen to them. Just forget all those "feeling down" thing and immerse yourself into the rythm.
But I really think it's not a good idea to play games when feeling down or tired... You will damage either yourself or your console.

Well, I meant the Game Boy version. There are plenty of DS and GBA games that make me want to barf. I try not to touch them, if possible.
Paws & Claws Pet Resort Anything "That's So Raven" Anything "Mary Kate and Ashley" Games based after a kid's summer animated movie
Oh, speaking of barf, I got the Aug/06 issue of Nintendo Power, and it's extremely hard to read the Game Watch Forecast because on the nearby page, it features an ad featuring a menacing little kid in a loincloth. Eww!
Anyways, some of the music in TS:BO I actually *gasp* like!
But that's why I want a DS. There is nothing good in GBA left! FFIV is too expensive, SMA is overpriced...

To me, nothing is more relaxing than looking at all my trophies in Wind Waker. ;D And going to my private island too.

A "relaxing" game must not make you throw your controller or Game Boy at the nearest wall, maybe something 3rd party you can get cheap, like "The Sims: Bustin' Out". Wind Waker never made me throw my controller at the nearest wall. In fact, for a Zelda game, I think it's fairly gentle. Come to think of it, I don't think any Zelda game has made me frustrated enough to abuse my controller. For me, getting stuck in a Zelda game is more the kind where I have to stop playing, think about the situation, and then come back and try a new approach to the problem. But I really think it's not a good idea to play games when feeling down or tired... You will damage either yourself or your console. I don't get it. How can I damage myself or my console by playing a game if I'm feeling down or tired? I don't mean down as in downright depressed. At a time like that, I don't feel like doing much of anything. And by tired, I don't mean sleepy. If I was sleepy, I would just sleep.

Any game that isn't very challenging but still manages to be fun feels relaxing to me... Spring Breeze in Kirby's Fun Pak and Chibi-Robo come to mind. u got animal crossing 4 ds I'd suggest posting this is in the right forum/thread... and learn some real English while you're at it.

Going a bit old school, any of the NES Marios do it for me. Possibly because they're so familiar that I could play them with my eyes closed and one hand tied behind my back.

I actually don't find any games "relaxing".
I find them boring, frustrating, or fun.

Relaxing games? Hmm, most of my games are pretty hectic (Smash Bros, Metroid...etc) but usually if iv had a hard day I like to play on RPG's. Yeah sure they arent the most relaxing of games, but you can pace yourself and enjoy the story instead of beating people up at lightning speeds. Currently im enjoying Tales of Phantasia (GBA), Final Fantasy VII (Yeah I know its old and not nintendo) and Breath of Fire (NES wasnt it? Well im on the GBA version)
