That Lapras thing is intriguing, too. And it's part Ground, 50% males and 50% females. And it seems all the baby Pokémon (Pichu, Azurill, Bonsly, etc.) will be available in the wild. Here's a picture of the beaver (courtesy of Serebii), and it will have Hyper Fang and Super Fang.

I like how Naetle's final form is based on the folklore of the Turtle carrying the world on its back. That, and it's got a half-Bowser Shell thing going on, since the cover is green and that one side is lined with white spikes.

I thought that scorpion one could be a dunsparce evo, but apparently not. As I understand it, there are now two Lapras-like critters who may be a pre- and post-evo. God, I can't wait until we find out. There were quite a few 3rd-Gen Pokes who I thought would be evos but they weren't at all. What WOULD Farfetch'd evolve into? I envision a samurai of sorts. I wonder if all this means the whole 1st, 2nd and 3rd-Gens will be available. Well you can import them for the other games./ + for eevee evo. - for ALL of those evos I think they went over board. Some are cool, others look dumb and arn't necisary(Rydon and Magnaton for instance) I did like the onezs for Roslia.

How can you say they look dumb based on a tiny sprite? I think the Rhydon evolution looks really kickass, and should make it onto my ingame team if he does.

The list of all 109 didn't have any names or icons, only types, egg groups, etc. The other one is good though.
Don't you guys think Korobooshi looks a strange bit like those two bee Pokemon from R/S/E?
No the Lapras like critters aren't Lapras evos/preevos. If you look closely you can see a whole 3 Pokemon evolution chain.
Wtf... Tangela? Tangela? Before Lapras? The injustice! Before Marowak too!
I-i-s that a grass evee? And another type of Eevee who's type I can't make out?
Oh my god... the weather Pokemon has an evo!
Manafie isn't a legendary! It has a pre-evo!

Korobooshi looks a lot like those fireflies but it happens to evolve into that red grasshopper. I'm not sure if the fireflies are alternate evolutions. I'm pretty sure those different sprites for the Lapras-like Pokémon are for gender variations or something (not different species). Remember that there's going to be gender variations (female Scizor's abdomen will be larger, female Wooper's antennae will have less spikes, female Butterfree's wings will have colored patterns), so that one might be a larger gender variation (color included). Plus, it's been confirmed that the red one is the pre-evolved form of Lapras . And who's the weather Pokémon evo? I think you're talking about the Ghost/Electric Pokémon which is above the legendary trio.

Am the only one who is against the idea of giving EVERY pokemon having a pre-evolution/evolution? It seems to me that the programmers are really lazy and just giving everybody's favourite pokemon another form. The way it's going there won't be any original one-off pokemon left. Add this to the fact that they've changed the battle mechanics of the pokemon games. It definately sounds like the programmes haven't heard the phrase "If it ain't broke, don't fix it".
I was so looking forward to this game, but I don't think I'll bother now.
The only positive thing about this game is that Flash is no longer a HM.

I'd have to disagree with that "if it aint broke, don't fix it" remark - we've had 3 generations (GSC, RSE and FRLG) with no major changes to the battle system, with the last real change coming when Steel and Dark got introduced way back when. When you consider that thats, what, 8 GBC/GBA games and then a further 3 console games that use that same system, I think its about time they shook up the system a bit.
And they aren't really are giving every Pokemon an evolution/pre-evolution, anyway, since theres still a whole ton that haven't been touched, and it seems to me that if some Pokemon didn't get one now, they probably are never going to anyway.

This battle mechanics change is comparable to the introduction of Steel and Dark, but it's more a quantitative thing than a qualitative thing this time. The damage calculation is beyond types now; the Physical/Special thing is more like a solidity or non-solidity thing (Sludgebomb is Special, Fire Punch is Physical, Poison Sting keeps being Physical). I suppose they made it to sticky to reality a little bit more, which sounds good, but on the other hand, you may want to refactor the moves you taught to your 3rd-generation Pokémon which could be affected by this. It seems the color variations of the Lapras pre-evolution depends on the area of Shinou you catch it at. The yellow thing that looks like a "Reggie" is indeed a "Reggie"! It seems to be Normal-type. Big screenshots of it, of Porygon3, of the new eeveelutions, of the Magneton evolution and other legendaries are here. The regi has Registeel-like claws. Do you guys like that Poison/Fighting toad?

Regigigas? Good lord! And hey, there's that Magneton evolution. I'm not sure it's entirely fair that some of these Pokemon have higher evolutions. I mean it's not exactly like Electabuzz and Magneton were awful. It's almost as if they've been engineered to shake up the Ruby/Sapphire professional games.
On the whole, these Pokemon are looking pretty cool. I'm overall more impressed than I was with the selection in Ruby/Sapphire.
I love the pre-evolution of that poison toad. Not too sure if I like that one. But I'm a fan of the hippo Pokemon, and I love the evolution of Misdreavus. That's exactly what I would have thought it would evolve into ;D

Not a huge fan of the poison toad Johan linked to, but, much like Fryguy, I do love its first stage. I also love that hippo evolution.
Also, am I the only one that thinks Gabaito looks like the bastard son of Sceptile and a Sharpedo? Still looks pretty cool, though.

I'm gonna get both those Eeveelutions. XD No two butts about it--gonna kick ass to the max.
What I find odd is that there's a Magneton evolution, but no Electrode evolution--then again, you could say the same thing about there not being an evolved form of Jynx, too, whereas Magmar and Electabuzz both get one. (Not like I'd be keen on seeing a Jynx evo...euw.)
Aww, come on. Another Legendary Golem? Those things were the epitome of lame. And the newcomer is a Normal type no less.
At first this generation didn't really turn me on--but now I see too many Pokémon I want to train. XD This game will certainly keep me busy for a while.

No the Lapras like critters aren't Lapras evos/preevos. BTW, Bulbagarden claims the Lapras-like Pokémon is unrelated to Lapras. And on closer inspection, the Water/Ground Pokémon looks too short when compared to the alleged alternate evolution (Lapras). Also, am I the only one that thinks Gabaito looks like the bastard son of Sceptile and a Sharpedo? Still looks pretty cool, though. That's true, they're look very similar. And both are Dragon egg group. So when you put them together, it will look like you're mixing too breeds of Sceptile or something. What I find odd is that there's a Magneton evolution, but no Electrode evolution | Mastetrode |
Aww, come on. Another Legendary Golem? Those things were the epitome of lame. And the newcomer is a Normal type no less. Maybe that golem is an organic version of the old trio? It actually interests me. And it looks like... a rusted Registeel or a plain alien suit. | Reggierust or Reggielien |
