I just got my Nintendo DS and New Super Mario Bros. game this week. Yes!! I cleared the first level and noticed that Mario was saying something (probably in a foreign language). Anyway, let's get to the point: what the hell is he saying??

I've heard a lot of people had trouble understanding that. God knows why, it was crystal clear to me.

I feel dumb. Anyway, how many lives have you gotten in that game?

As many as you can get, I think. It maxes out at like 99 or something.

I have to admit: I am a little avaricious when I play: I will always try to get every damn Big Coin within the first try and get myself killed over it.

No, I just like getting it all on the first time. Speakng of which, I think know that you can tell about someone's work/gaming habits via a game of Mario. For example, if they try to get every single Big Coin in the level, then you can brand them avaricious, a perfectionist (like myself), or someone who thinks they can get things on the first try.

I do that for about half the game, get bored and race towards the end, then go back and tie up all the loose ends.
Which, funnily enough, is exactly how I handle my work as well!!

I guess what Mad Dave was saying WAS true: avarice will kill you in time. If you don't know who Mad Dave (the lead singer of Disturbed) is, then goto www.disturbed1.com This is a personal question regarding me: have I gotten better or worse on this forum?

Hard to say. Not all of your old posts were idiotic nonsense either. So give it time and you may yet redeem yourself.
But it will take effort. It will take nerve. It will take BALLS!

I am up to the challenge.
Back to the subject: you know what enemy I absolutely CANNOT stand?? The black-yellow spiders. I mean look at them: they hang from the top of the screen (waiting for and trying to kill you) and drop in at any time, so you can't rush through the level. They are more annoying than Baby Peach's cry and Baby Bowser's cry COMBINED in Yoshi's Island DS. Seriously though, to bypass them, you would have to sit there, like a soldier pinned down by enemy gunfire, and wait for your chance to attack. (That's pretty much how you would have to be all throughout the level.) They reside in both World 8-4 AND World 4. They disgust me AND piss me off at the same time.
Does anybody remember their scores in the minigames of New Super Mario Bros.? I don't know mine off the top of my head and I don't have my game with me.

I didn't have any trouble rushing through those levels... Most of the spiders landed right in the path of my jumps, meaning i spent most of the level bouncing from one spider to the next. ;D

Has anyone seen the video of that level in World 4, where you can jump on the spiders (and other enemies) - never touching the ground once from the beginning right up to the point where you land on Dorrie (the loch ness monster-type creature from SM64)?
