So the Game & Watch game simply titled "Climber" is seriously part of the Nintendo (or Ice) Climber series, right? If Climber was removed from the Ice Climber list on Wikipedia because of the plot, then why is Balloon Kid considered by several people to be the sequel to Balloon Fight? The gameplay and some references. The G&W Climber also has many references to Ice Climber, and Nintendo sometimes doesn't care about the plot, because gameplay is more important.
Noise did the same kind of thing to Custom Robo Arena: improved gameplay and features, but ignored creating a different plot that plays like the plots of the previous Custom Robos, which they all have the protagonist wake up after dreaming about custom robo battling, grab their first custom robo (always a Ray model), then meet up with a friend or classmate to have fun with custom robos. The first Custom Robo was just the beginning, Custom Robo V2 added a tag-team feature, Custom Robo GX converted the series into 2D and added a battle chip for custom robos, Custom Robo: Battle Revolution added four players, and Custom Robo Arena added Wi-Fi Connection for online multiplayer.

Well this makes me hella curious. I hope it features co-op, that was the best part of Ice Climber. I was thinking of a 4 player Ice Climber Wiiware remake at some point, I kinda hope this is it.

Rock 'N Roll Climber? I don't know about the name, but since its apparently Nintendo who's developing it, maybe its a new Ice Climber game. I wonder if the climbers are still Popo and Nana or they are new climbers named Rock and Roll.

I don't know why Nintendo called this Rock 'N Roll Climber... I guess Ice Climber sounds too generic today. Maybe the game might involve some rock music or maybe having to make rock music to climb the mountain.

We don't even know if it's related to Ice Climbers. It's probably not.

Maybe its not... I just found it interesting that Nintendo made a game with the word "climber" in the title. I assumed it would probably be a new Ice Climber game... kinda like how ExciteTruck and ExciteBots are pretty much new Excitebike games because of the word "excite" in the titles. Though DK: Jungle Climber is an exception.

Weird you mention Jungle Climber, given it's basicly a Clu Clu Land sequel.

Well, JC was a sequel to King of Swing, which is a spiritual sequel to Clu Clu Land. Bubbles even appears as a hidden character.

I don't know about the name, but since its apparently Nintendo who's developing it, I never said Nintendo was developing it, the studio known as Vitel is. (In an interview Giles Goddard considered themselves to be a 1.5 party with Nintendo).

Vitel? I thought it was VITEI. The studio's been around for a short while, and they've developed only one game, which is theta, an aquatic puzzle game for the Nintendo DS that was released exclusively in Japan, despite not containing very much Japanese. Perhaps the game wasn't very interesting in the opinions of most NoA representatives or perhaps they didn't have enough time and/nor money to localize it outside of Japan.

Rock & Roll Climber sounds more like a sequel to Band Brothers, if you ask me Or perhaps an Ice Climber remake starring Barbara, ala. Tingle's Balloon Fight! ;D

It sounds to me like a follow-up featuring a pair of rock climbers to allow for more than just icy mountain-themed levels.

If Rock 'N Roll Climber is really a new Ice Climber game, then maybe the Ice Climbers will have a new stage based off this game in SSB4 and/or will take the new physical appearances from this game (kinda like how Link looks like he's from TP in Brawl instead of OOT in Melee). Of course, the extreme case would be Rock 'N Roll Climbers replacing Ice Climbers or end up as their clones if Rock 'N Roll Climbers aren't Popo and Nana. I'm just speculating here. So, any more information about this game besides the title? Why is it called Rock 'N Roll Climber instead of Ice Climber? Does it have anything to do with rock music or what?

It doesn't sound like Ice Climber from that rating summary but it would be cool if they ever make a sequel to Ice Climber.
