Not long now! This thread can be the discussion hub for the upcoming Game Developers Conference. The conference starts on March 8th, by the way. For those of you who don't know, the conference is an event for developers and programmers to get together for a chat, show off new stuff to each other, and offer tips and help to each other in the form of speeches and presentations. There's usually some juicy gaming news for us fanboys to chew on too. Feel free to speculate here until the big day.

But doubt we'll hear a lot. The GDC is usually about discussing trends in the gaming market, new technologies and so on. There's sometimes a handful of announcements, but nothing on the scale of a proper game expo.
Although new SSBB footage would be the roxxors. Even game developers across the world must be looking forward to that. It's the ultimate lunchbreak game for them!!

From what I have heard, nintendo is not allowed to talk about new products(I assum unveiling new games) due to the Japanese Govt selling their stocks in Nintendo. Im not sure it can be called 100% yet becuase the only people reproting it are 1up.com and Gonintendo.com. Nintendojo.com has the same articel about the stock trade, but not this one, and IGN and Gamespot(the good new sources) have nothing on it.
UI assum therer will be a lot for Super Paper Mario and Pokemon(English names mostly). I don't see Brawl, but I guess it depends if Nintendo is going to use this to show off games from May till Auguest, so it's possible.
Also, Expo is from the 5th to the 8th I believe.

I've heard similar news about Ninty having to keep their lips sealed, hopefully its bogus but if not they better give us tons of stuff straight after, otherwise Sony and Microsoft are going to dash ahead.

Wait... the Japanese government can hold stock in a corporation, and gag that corporation by SELLING the stock?
That sounds like the biggest pile of nonsense I've ever heard! Take me to the source, bee-yatch!!

Take me to the source, bee-yatch!! GonintendoGame Life(or something, it's another blog) originally posted it. It is also on 1up.com and Nintendojo.com. I'm ganna check Kotaku as well. It appers to be like the telephone games, no to sources have the same exact story. EDIT KotakuThe stock trade seeems to be the Japanese govt. selling their stocks in Nintendo, although, sourcees have been saying different things. OH, and it means they can't unveil new things. So while they can talk abount any already announced game, anything new(and all new hardware functions) are out. What do you guys think?

I spent all of February expecting some info for SSBB to come from this conference. I don't give a rat's heinder one way or another about anything else--if I don't hear some new Brawl news soon, I will rip my hair out. XD Besides, nothing is worse than Nintendo shooting information blanks.

I think if they unveiled the starting roster, everyone would crap their pants. Sadly, I'm not expecting Brawl info. I'm not expexcting much either way. I am happy to learn some stuff about Super Paper Mario, and some english Pokemon names.
Any thing on the "big three" would be a blessing we're not worthy of. I am hoping for something. Nintendo makes their speeches tomarrow, so we'll see.

I don't care much for info on the other games since both are so soon to come out that at this point I'd rather just wait to find out in person. Especially english Pokemon names--that's not a fair trade-off for Brawl info.

It may be speculation, but it's educated speculation at least.

It may be speculation, but it's educated speculation at least. Most of this is speculation. This is a tricky subject. Weird, how all of those "Nintendo silent at GDC" post all came from one source, Game Life. How are we to know they can be trusted?

Probably because it seems so Nintendo-like to (whether accidentally or on purpose) be forced to say absolutely nothing when they should be shoving info down our throats.
They aren't going to reveal the Brawl roster. They might have another trailer with a couple of characters revealed though.
Personally I want to see more on Galaxy, but even more so I want to see what else is in the pipeline.

I assum if they show anything on Brawl, it would be aa roster. Melee revealed it's starting roster in the first trailer.
But any news at this point is good news. Nintendo starves us so bad that when ever thety throw a bone we jump on it like a pack of ravenes hyenas.
