I didn't see a thread already, so I'm jumpin on it while I can!
What do you guys think of the new Mario Kart, and the WiiWheel? Definitely a great way to bring the series back to the forefront, I think. Double Dash and DS fell a little under the mainstream radar, but maybe this game can get back to Kart 64 level popularity with it being on the super-popular Wii and all.
And what's with the 12 racers per lineup? Think there'll be 20 plus characters this time around? *crosses fingers for Syrup*

AT LEAST 12 characters. I'm hoping for much more. 16? 24? 32? Go nuts here Nintendo.
Wheel looks dodgy as and seems to be a bit of a waste of time - all reports say that the wheel packed in with some crappy ubisoft launch game (essentially the same thing) are crapola.

I hope they also let people play the traditional way. I'm used to that. And I hope they let people play with the direction pad. I can't make mini-turbos with the 3D stick well.

I kinda want them to go nuts with Mario characters this time also, but I don't expect we'll see many from the spinoff franchises. Wario, DK, Diddy and Yoshi will probably top it off.
I tried the Wheel accessory that was released on the Wii's launch and it really doesn't do anything for me. It only makes compatible games more awkward than they already are.

They said it was to help newer layers so we may still have a classic set up.

Good to hear.
And actually I hope games like this have support of the Logictech Speed Force. And since we already have that, why bother making the Wheel controller thing? (I don't like Logictech anyway, they make faulty mice and keyboards!)

If that going to happen, you will need some better items/weapons in the game. Multiple giant Bowser shells from Mario Kart: Double Dash anyone? Also your going to need to have at least 4096 players...........In battle mode.

Well, actually that sounds good.
-----------------------
Really, I'm more of interested in the characters available. Be it 8, 12 or 16 racers, I want to see more of WHO is being playable, and more importantly, the tracks (You'll eventually stick to one character or two anyway, even given 40 characters)!

Just a forewarning, I don't play with snakers. XD I don't care if you do it when we're not having a match, but if you do I'll...um...be very mad at you. And probably won't play with you again XD
Assuming Mario Kart is online. Was that confirmed, or am I imagining things?
