He's annoying and not worthy being in any more games (I consider him the 'Tingle' of the marioverse). Surely, Diddy, Dixie and Bowser Jr would be lightweights, Waluigi would be a middleweight and Daisy would be available from the get go? I'd like to see Kamek make an appearence in this game (based on nothing, but his brief stint in Mario Kart R (the early version of MK64)). King Boo should also appear (being a heavyweight, for some reason that is unclear to me at this present time). |

Waluigi has already been stated as being a heavyweight, and the twelve starters are listed on the first post. They only ones we are unsure about is Koopa and Baby Weegee Given that I hate Tingle (along with most people) no. Also, where do you get the idea that most people hate Tingle? Why do you think for every 1000 posts, you are labeled as a type of Tingle!  |

Daisy is still an essential cast member, regardless of her current lack of personality. She kind of gets a personality in Strikers where she's tough and tomboyish, and at least her stats in Baseball, Golf, and Tennis imply she's a force to be reckoned with. I agree her new look is very generic and she still lacks a personality, but it's freakin' Daisy: they can keep her.
I still contend that a Peach/Daisy platformer would clear the air.

Daisy should probably get a bigger role for the same reasons as Waluigi. My idea for a plot in that Mario & Luigi 3 idea involved Wart and Tatanga teaming up to build a giant dream-altering robot called "The Dream Pagosu" and use it to conquer the Mushroom Kingdom, Saraland and Sub-Con all at once. Maybe Mario Land could appear in there somewhere.

Back to the debate. I personally think Peaty is a better choice than Kamek. I mean Kamek is just a Magikoopa with another name he's nothing special.

He's not even that, as "Kamek" is simply the Japanese name for all Magikoopas. So he's probably been overblown as a standalone character in the English version, when he's just a Magikoopa in the Japanese.
Yoshi's Island did have a particularly shocking translation team behind it though. Spike became Mace Penguin? What the hell!?

I figure we'll get four more characters per weight class, which would make for a "massive rooster lol."
Let's see...
Lightweights: Boo, Baby Luigi confirmed. Let's add Bowser Jr. and Toadette.
Midweights: Daisy confirmed. Pauline for the retro, alongside two others I am blanking on.
Heavyweights: Let's add Petey, Birdo, Hammer Brother, and Wart for one retro.
Diddy and Jr. would be lightweights. They're basing this, I think, on the sizes from Double Dash. Birdo and Waluigi become heavy because that's just more befitting of them.

Let's see here...I'm imagining a roster of around 24 racers, 8 in each category.
Here's the rundown:
LIGHTWEIGHT
Toad, Baby Mario, Baby Luigi, Baby Peach, Koopa Troopa, Boo
MIDDLEWEIGHT
Mario, Luigi, Peach, Daisy, Yoshi
HEAVYWEIGHT
Wario, Waluigi (since when was he a heavyweight?), Donkey Kong, Bowser
So, two more lightweights: Toadette, Dry Bones (as 8bit said, he was popular in MKDS).
Three more middleweights: Diddy Kong, Magikoopa (he WAS planned for MK64), Bowser Jr.
Four more heavyweights: Hammer Bro, Petey Piranha (someone here mentioned the image of him riding a motorcycle...hilarious stuff XD), Birdo, Wart (the retro character).
Nothing flashy...just a nice solid roster.
