For some reason the game won't connect to Wi-fi even though my connection is working perfectly. This is strange, as Wi-Fi is working for me very well even though I was having a crappy connection recently.

What.... even Mario Kart didn't make it to escape from the wrath from the LOL TOUCHIE GENERASHON merketing thing?
Fun. Thanks to the recent movements in the market... I'm less and less into new games. Bring me back the older ones. PLEASE.
I'll probably really faint off when I see more of these depthless games (or games still good but less decent than before) coming up. Like I said, with every game going that way, they're not innovative (as Wii is advertised as)... not good... not even deserve being called games.

Popping up to say that I enjoy the hobo out of Mario Kart Wii, probably because I haven't touched the single player yet. The awesome fun is still there in multiplayer and online mode. It's a little annoying how bumping into a wall pretty much makes you stop completely this time around but that's your own fault for sucking I guess. Had some multi-fun with a bunch of friends yesterday and, while I won the most in Double Dash, I pretty much got last the whole time because of random hobo flying at me in the last lap. And I still had a good time. I guess what I'm trying to say is that it's still a great party game. Too bad single player's annoying, apparently.

You know... I really hate to admit this, but it appears as though Nintendo's turning into the Macintosh of video games. I'm sure at least one of you knows where I'm coming from with this.

Does Whatever in Underwear: Well, these are when they first came out. But now pretty much most Wii games are doing that... when everything's special, they're all normal and anything "normal" will in turn be the special ones.
8bitretrogloopy: Bad for me. I kinda enjoyed getting all wins over.... but then, always winning is pretty annoying. Still, I'd like to see Mario Kart doing its job properly before anything.
Man-Frog: Please elaborate. I think the Mac is pretty cool in that it's almost immune to viruses, stable and looks cool - these are superiorities to Windows, and to Linux, Solaris and the like, supported by Adobe. What's so ... eh, Nintendoish about it?

If Nintendo (or Sony or Microsoft or Capcom or Sega or whoever) creates something new tomorrow, by the day after there will be a whole bunch of knockoffs of it. Doesn't mean the original thing wasn't innovative. And I haven't seen any Wii Fit knockoffs around, personally.

I agree with you on the whole "Item-rapage" thing, totally. And as for playing with the wheel, well I've given up on that as well (I prefer using the Nunchuck and Remote combo though as opposed to using the GC controller).
This is the first MK game that I've ever lost a race on 50cc and, like you Fry, I wanted to attack something, be it my Wii or the TV.
I do like the fact that you can't pull off mini-turbo after mini-turbo, and that some of the new tracks are brilliant, but that doesn't make up for the "item rapage" that you so accurately descibed.
I'll think I'll give playing (or trying to play) it a rest for now, and return to it a bit later (say in a couple of weeks time, maybe).

Guess I'd be happier if the single player CPs know how to cut it off. This reminds me of Super Mario Kart though... in this sense, yeah, I'm not a blind "old is good" supporter. I don't personally support cheater CPs, that's it. No, really? If Nintendo (or Sony or Microsoft or Capcom or Sega or whoever) creates something new tomorrow, by the day after there will be a whole bunch of knockoffs of it. Doesn't mean the original thing wasn't innovative. And I haven't seen any Wii Fit knockoffs around, personally. This is how I put it: The first mover is probably creative for real, but after that, some more originality would be nice. For example, Wii Sports, Wii Play... they sound good, right? But after that, if Nintendo continue on the "Wii this, Wii that" line, these subsequent games would not sound as innovative. Sure, each individual game does different thing, but an overall impression imposed on them would be that they lack innovativeness in that they do nothing besides innovation (without traditional-gamer-targeted contents, in particular).

Wait, Europe got this BEFORE the US? Seriously, why? I mean, I know a lot of you guys are happy about it, but why would Nintendo release it there first?

A question about the Game Fry, (or anyone else who has it) When you use Miis, does the game respect the different body shapes or it just stacks the head on a generic body (I hate that!) as I am really looking up to use Memo, Marion, Kaira or Bizzarro Mario in this game.

No, the Mii is a generic figure with a Mii head. Although I have heard of a SUPER SECRET Mii thing at the very end of the game when you complete everything. Nothing to do with what you said
