We do actually get quite the occasional game before America - in very rare cases we also get games before Japan! Like DK: King of Swing and Odama.
But these rarities don't make up for the big, important delays. This Brawl delay is ridiculous.

to make up for the brawlessness. Not that it does mind you! Thats not my fault! Tell NoE about it.

Congrats for the 1400th post, Spuddie!
What do you think NOE is doing, delaying an important game like this?
MKWii's case is pretty normal though. Release of all regions put into one single month.

Now, after reading some reviews of MKWii, I remembered that MK:DD had an item switch, it just had 3 options (Agresive, normal and No Items) and most reviews said that MKWii also has one. Have you checked Fry to see if the game its not set in Agressive ?

I'm sure that that only applies to Vs matches, and not the Grand Prix Mode.

Yes it does. Grand Prix is where the headaches be.
Got a message from my sister yesterday basically saying "Was 100cc always this fucking annoying!?" She hadn't read my review or anything, she just got item raped on the first lap she played on 100cc. So good to know it's not just me!

Well thats a shame (never used that option in DD) hopefully the game wont be as dificult in 2p Mode, as thats how I will probably beat the grand prix

I think they cut out Grand Prix co-op. By that I mean that VS Racing with 2-4 players is Grand Prix style with computer opponents, but you can't unlock anything that way.

I still think Grand Prix is likely only more annoying because it has four more racers in it.

If there's one thing that's just as annoying as the whole item rapeage problem is the fact that a good proprtion of the unlockable characters are just 'special' versions of regular characters (for example Baby Daisy, Dry Bowser, Baby Luigi etc).
Why can't we have a Mario Kart game without resorting to baby/special versions of regular characters?

Because technically Luigi is Green Mario, Wario is Fat Yellow Mario, Waluigi is Lanky Purple Mario. Then Diddy Kong is just mini-Donkey Kong. Bowser Jr. is mini-Bowser. Daisy is yellow Peach. Toadette is transgendered Toad.
The more diverse a character is, the less likely they are to be incorporated into being long-term Mario characters. God help you if you're someone like E. Gadd who doesn't look like anyone.

In that case, I can see Roselina being shoe-horned into the next Mario Party game (and everyone here knows that there will be another one) as an alternative to Peach or Daisy.

I used to think Booster would appear in Mario Party at some point as a Wario clone... before I knew about Square having the rights 'n all.

I think I mentioned this already, but seeing as the karts/bikes determine the stats, and there's no special character-specific attacks this time around, there might as well be 4 characters! All these extra characters add nothing but their annoying catchphrases!
Although you'd be forgiven for thinking each character has an effect on the kart they're driving due to the huge number of stats for each character before you pick your kart... but it makes no difference. They're light, medium and heavy, deciding which karts they can ride in. The karts have crazy stats this time - some have such tight turning that powerslides make you fly into walls, and others have such poor turning that there's no point powersliding.
As with Mario Kart DD and DS, I expect to see one or two karts becoming the standard for everyone.

and there's no special character-specific attacks this time around, I really miss those. *sighs deeply* And I hate whoever came up with the ideas for special cup (Bowser's Castle and Rainbow Road in particular).
