I made a thread for this last year, but I find these old video game commercials so fun to watch! Here are a few more choice selections... Zelda II - I'd forgotten about this one, but they used to show it a lot. Paperboy - The switch to actual game footage seems a little jarring, now. Little Nemo: The Dream Master - I like this one. I think it's a cool idea. Super Mario Kart - Parodying the old monster truck rally ads. BE THERE! BE THERE! BE THERE! Secret of Evermore - I don't think I remember seeing this one, but it's very creepy and surrealistic. Doesn't really fit the actual mood of the game. Killer Instinct - This is a really $&@*# commercial. You can read the woman's lips at the end. (What the ship?) Yoshi's Island - Been looking for this one, but it's kinda disgusting. (Apparently, someone else thought so, too, as there's also a censored version.) Bonus Videos:These aren't Nintendo related, but I thought they were worth showing anyway. Ice Hockey - For Atari 2600, featuring a then-unknown, but still funny, Phil Hartman. Chu Chu Rocket! - Japanese ad. Warning: the jingle may get stuck in your head for hours. Now, if only I could find that StarTropics commercial...

Wait a min...is that Zelda II ad from Europe? What's that Mattel logo for? No, it was shown in the US. The Mattel logo must be for the Ghostbusters II and Iron Sword plugs at the end. At the time, I didn't think that Zelda II commercial was as interesting as this for the original Zelda. Looking back now, I think the Zelda II commercial is a little bit cooler. I love that commercial. I posted it in last year's thread, tho the link is broken now. Another commercial I posted last year that I always liked was the Super Mario 64 Got Milk? commercial.

Classic Commercials: Atari Edition!Pong - Supposedly, this is Atari's first commercial advertising their dedicated Pong system. I don't know the exact year, but mid-to-late 70's. Atari 2600 - Look at all those accessories! You'd think it was made by Sega or something. Pole Position - No comment... Dig Dug - Possibly the first video game ad to be shown in theaters. I think I remember seeing this one and being confused as to whether it was supposed to be a movie or a music video, and why there was a video game in it. Vanguard - Ah, this was one of my favorite games from way, way back, tho I had the much superior 5200 version. Ever notice how Atari acted like they invented other companies' games? This one was actually an early SNK effort. Mario Bros. - This one's a little obscure, so I don't know if you're familiar with it. I can't seem to recall which company it's from, either. Jaguar games - A collection of commercials. Maybe the first one is an indication of why the console flopped. Bonus Video (non-Atari)Commodore Vic-20 - William Shatner tells you to buy "the wonder computer of the 1980's."

^ Still doesn't have the original StarTropics commercial. Just the goofy Mega Man 6/Zoda's Revenge commercial.

The Jaguar one: how did Nintendo convince, then, the N64 was cool with 64 bits? The Pong one: Over at Kotaku, they're all confused over the bizarre male maid with the tight undershirt.
