Is there anything you like? You hate The Todd, you hate Tingle, and now you hate Mario RPG? You confusing Parrothead with Mr Molecule? I guess so. Sorry guys, but if you hate one more happy thing Mr. Molecule, I will consider you emo, or something like that. Parrothead, you're on strike one

Y'all are half wrong. I like overrated stuff, but not as much as the underrated stuff.

I'm much the same. Although being from the UK, Super Mario RPG is extremely obscure as it never came out here, so I can enjoy it for being under-rated But it's weird isn't it? I can't tell you why I love Nazo no Murasamejou or Joy Mech Fight so much, other than the fact hardly anybody outside of Japan has heard of them

If likes them solely for being underrated, then it could be said that he's no better than those who like things for being overrated.
The trouble with nonconformity...

I didn't say it was better or worse. I don't think Parrothead has either. People who like really popular games aren't wrong. I mean I still love me a bit of Mario, Zelda, Pokemon, etc... But when you're playing a game hardly anyone you know has even heard of, let alone played, then it feels like a more personal experience. You learn to love characters nobody else even knows. You want the world to love them as much as you do. And it works. Look at how happy everyone is that Takamaru is in Captain Rainbow now

Toast!
Here's a promo video for the TurboGrafx 16 that was mailed to people in the US in the early 90's. No need to watch the whole thing, but do check out the brilliantly cheesy first couple of minutes. In particular...
1:02 - The announcer explains the name. So, "grafx" is for graphics? No kidding! ;D
2:05 - Those two guys get really excited when they actually lose a round of Fighting Street!
2:19 - Who doesn't dance to CD's like this? I know I do!

Parrothead, you're on strike one Excuse me, what have I done? OK, so I'm not very fond of some TV show you guys watch and a strange character from Zelda. But Mario RPG? I loves it!
