I made a thread for this last year, but I find these old video game commercials so fun to watch! Here are a few more choice selections...
Zelda II - I'd forgotten about this one, but they used to show it a lot. Paperboy - The switch to actual game footage seems a little jarring, now. Little Nemo: The Dream Master - I like this one. I think it's a cool idea. Super Mario Kart - Parodying the old monster truck rally ads. BE THERE! BE THERE! BE THERE! Secret of Evermore - I don't think I remember seeing this one, but it's very creepy and surrealistic. Doesn't really fit the actual mood of the game. Killer Instinct - This is a really $&@*# commercial. You can read the woman's lips at the end. (What the ship?) Yoshi's Island - Been looking for this one, but it's kinda disgusting. (Apparently, someone else thought so, too, as there's also a censored version.)
Bonus Videos: These aren't Nintendo related, but I thought they were worth showing anyway.
Ice Hockey - For Atari 2600, featuring a then-unknown, but still funny, Phil Hartman. Chu Chu Rocket! - Japanese ad. Warning: the jingle may get stuck in your head for hours.
Now, if only I could find that StarTropics commercial...

Classic Commercials: Atari Edition!
Pong - Supposedly, this is Atari's first commercial advertising their dedicated Pong system. I don't know the exact year, but mid-to-late 70's. Atari 2600 - Look at all those accessories! You'd think it was made by Sega or something. Pole Position - No comment... Dig Dug - Possibly the first video game ad to be shown in theaters. I think I remember seeing this one and being confused as to whether it was supposed to be a movie or a music video, and why there was a video game in it. Vanguard - Ah, this was one of my favorite games from way, way back, tho I had the much superior 5200 version. Ever notice how Atari acted like they invented other companies' games? This one was actually an early SNK effort. Mario Bros. - This one's a little obscure, so I don't know if you're familiar with it. I can't seem to recall which company it's from, either. Jaguar games - A collection of commercials. Maybe the first one is an indication of why the console flopped.
Bonus Video (non-Atari)
Commodore Vic-20 - William Shatner tells you to buy "the wonder computer of the 1980's."
Nester the Lark: Also, I know YL isn't into speedruns, but he might be interested to know that RPG Limit Break is having a Gust marathon all weekend, including several Atelier games.

nocturnal YL: Ah… Bad timing. I didn't read this until now, when it's almost over.

Nester the Lark: Well, if you're still interested, they'll be uploading the replays to their YouTube channel later this week.

Shrikeswind: I like that Mayles put her back in her kneepads. What's the last game they were in? One of the Kongas? It was a good look for her, albeit very 90's.

Shrikeswind: The jokes call to me, their siren song a temptation I can hardly bear, yet I must stay my tongue. Confound my dirty sense of humor.

Nester the Lark: The replies I see to anything Nintendo posts on Twitter are probably an indication as to why they abandoned Miiverse and decided that social media should be someone else's responsibility.

nocturnal YL: As mentioned in Twitter, I'm currently playing Atelier Meruru DX. I'm thinking about writing reviews for the Arland series afterwards, as well as making a second Nintendo Switch review video after I finish either this or my next game.

Nester the Lark: ^ I would be interested in seeing your reviews of the Arland games.

Nester the Lark: So, there's been Hyrule Warriors and Fire Emblem Warriors. But guys, how about this: Punch-out Warriors! It's like Punch-out, but you fight all of your opponents at once!

Shrikeswind: Sounds punchy, but unless it's a real knock-out I don't think it'd be a hit.
