The English articles for Sutte Hakkun, Nazo no Murasame-jo, Shin Onigashima and Yuyuki were requested for translation by me, and have recently been translated from their Japanese Wikipedia articles, and updated with more information. Please enjoy. I made some translation requests for these other titles. If this thread bumps by me, check to see if I added a new article translated. Some of them in blue are 100% finished: I know some of these already have large English articles, but when I made a translation request for Nazo no Murasame-jo, Thinkbeforeyouclick just added some information from the Japanese article that the English one lacked. Some of the articles listed don't require much time nor work to translate. |

Sadly, this is also true of many non-Japan-only games. I tend to use the Japanese pages for reference now, rather than the US pages.

Rad, I like to read into little details, especially Shin Onigashima since I didn't know much about it (hell until now I thought Donbe's companions were a dog, a monkey and a PEASANT). Sorry to derail, but that Yuyuki guy...... I'm pretty sure I played a NES/Famicom game starring that monkey king, but it wasn't a text adventure game. Instead it was more or less a platformer I guess. The levels were a bunch of long, horizontal platforms you could jump up or down off. The screen automaticly scrolled to the right and you had to pick up the fruit or whatever spread all across the level while avoiding enemies coming from the right of the screen.
Anyway, anybody happens to know what game I'm talking about? I've been looking for it a while now but I can't find the name of the game...e: Haha, I actually found it after searching once more. Finally. I was talking about this game. |

There are several Japanese stuff based on or inspired by Journey to the West. Son Goku from the DragonBall/Z/GT series was also based on Sun Wukong, while some of his partners were also based on some people in Journey to the West.

I remember watching an old anime movie as a kid based on that legend...I think it was called Alakazam the Great. And Sterling Holloway narrated it. Awesomeness it was...
Anyway...after looking at the Japanese pages on several non JP-exclusive games, I have to say that the Japanese pages are much better and more informative...if only there were an easy way to properly translate them...

Oh nice to see some more information about Yuu Yuu Ki. I've always liked the game even though I've played it only a short while. And great to see some higher resolution of the cover - I never was able to find the second part one larger than that small icon on nindb. I have one question about Shin Oni Ga Shima article though. What's the point in naming the heroine of the game as Hikaru? Isn't SSBM trophy refering to her rather as Hikari? I thought it is official translation. I also have something in mind that bothered me a long time. On Nindb in Famicom tantei club series page the main protagonist is metioned to have name Anata. But both japanese wikipedia and official game page of remake reffer to him simply as protagonist or just you, and you can't choose the random name for him (atleast in Nintendo Power remake). Were do you get that info Fryguy? This seems to be interesting couse if he has a name he has more chances to appear as a trophy in SSBB - and I will be really happy if he will. |

The article for Time Twist: Rekishi no Katasumi de... has been translated. Scroll up to the first post of this thread and click on the name of this Famicom Disk System title to read about it. This is the first Nintendo title that has these historical personages appearing throughout the game: - Joan of Arc

Yeah, I've actually got a complete guide to this game (in Japanese). I've made it to the second chapter where your character's body is swapped with that of a demon. It's like Quantum Leap ;D Such a weird game. And possibly the only one of Nintendo's games that was never ever ever gonna be released outside of Japan! |

I thought it is official translation. In the Notes section, he typed in "Hikari". Most likely, he forgot to change "Hikaru" back to "Hikari." "Hikari" is correct. It is a hiragana name in Japanese. This is Hikari's name: ひかり (hi-ka-ri) If it was "Hikaru", it would look like this, which isn't seen in the article: ひかる (hi-ka-ru) I studied this using the Wikipedia article about "hiragana". |

The article for Famicom Tantei Club: Kieta Kōkeisha has finally been translated, while the articles for Kururin Squash!, Famicom Tantei Club Part II: Ushiro ni Tatsu Shōjo and Famicom Bunko: Hajimari no Mori are now under translation.
The description of the Ayumi Tachibana SSBM Trophy said that Ayumi first appeared in Famicom Tantei Club Part II: Ushiro ni Tatsu Shōjo, but that was incorrect. She first appeared in Famicom Tantei Club: Kieta Kōkeisha. She's even on the front cover of Disc 1 and 2 of Famicom Tantei Club: Kieta Kōkeisha.
