So you guys are making threads on SSB3? Okay, let me make one also!
This topic is about how can SSB3 be improved, when compared to the last 2 SSB games.
These are what I can think of: (1) Insert Kirby Air Ride stuff: Not having "Time" as the default battle rule (I want to be the configuration of the last battle, if the game has been played for at least once); havng a grid form of unlocking list; having tons of instruction movies; less bugs than SSBM (A super buggy game); introduce Meta Kinght and King Dedede ;D; unlockable colours; BUT!!! Do not use the graphoc style of KAR - it is a bit worse than that of SSBM!
(2) More mini-games: Like Kirby Aire Ride is divided into 3 parts, SSB3 can also introduce dofferent modes - not just the rule of pushing your opponents out of the stage!
(3) More events: What!? 51 events only!? Not enough~ I wanna more!!!
(4) More Kirby craziness: Add things from Kirby Super Star! A "gourment race" for SSB should be good. Also, the mini-games from the Amazing Mirror! GREAT!
(5) playable bosses: Unfair! Why can only the CP use Master Hand???
(6) More non-boss enemies: Occassionally, an enemy (either a Goomba, a Koopa Troopa, a Like Like, a Redead, an Octrock, (I forgot the names of the Ice Climber enemies) will appear) will pop out from carts or barrels. However, I want them to appear in bulk, disturbing the players!
(7) More complete Nintendo encyclopedia: Make a complete encyclopedia for Nintendo! 3D models are not really neccessary, but a complete go-through of every game is. I suppose it should introduce all Nintendo-developed games. Oh yea, games of other 2nd-party developers (like Intellegent Systems) as well.

Longer and more involved Adventure Mode levels. The Gourmet Race would be quite good for Kirby, actually... and the music from that section is pretty cool.
Maybe a stage then a battle for every character, perhaps followed by an extra bit at the end (such as the escape from Zebes).
Mario: Mushroom Kingdom, like SSBM, but longer and with more varied landscapes. DK: Trek through the jungle following the ground route (animal buddies) or the sky route (barrel cannons and vines). Zelda: Dungeon (More like Zelda 2, with puzzles?) Metroid: Zebes (travel through the caverns) Kirby: Gourmet Race (race Dedede to the goal) ...and so on. I'll think of more later.

Quoty-italicy-time.
Not having "Time" as the default battle rule (I want to be the configuration of the last battle, if the game has been played for at least once);
I'm 98% sure you can change the default settings.
havng a grid form of unlocking list; having tons of instruction movies;
Not that necessary, but sounds OK.
less bugs than SSBM (A super buggy game);
Never thought there really were that many bugs, but I'm sure they'll iron them all out.
introduce Meta Kinght and King Dedede ;
And alot others, but I think both of those are good choices
unlockable colours;
Huh? What do you mean?
BUT!!! Do not use the graphoc style of KAR - it is a bit worse than that of SSBM!
It'll have to better graphics than KAR, obviously.
(2) More mini-games: Like Kirby Aire Ride is divided into 3 parts, SSB3 can also introduce dofferent modes - not just the rule of pushing your opponents out of the stage!
Well, they've sort of started to do that, but yeah, expand on it a bit more, by all means.
(3) More events: What!? 51 events only!? Not enough~ I wanna more!!!
Sounds good to me.
(4) More Kirby craziness: Add things from Kirby Super Star! A "gourment race" for SSB should be good. Also, the mini-games from the Amazing Mirror! GREAT!
Kirby Presents: Super Smash Bros - Kirby Version!
(5) playable bosses: Unfair! Why can only the CP use Master Hand
Eh. Don't mind it being CPU exclusive, but it doesn't bother me. I'd certainly use him/her/it if he/she/it was in there.
I like.
If they do that and manage to get it out by 2013, then they would be doing well.
Mario: Mushroom Kingdom, like SSBM, but longer and with more varied landscapes. Zelda: Dungeon (More like Zelda 2, with puzzles?) Kirby: Gourmet Race (race Dedede to the goal)
These seem good to me.
DK: Trek through the jungle following the ground route (animal buddies) or the sky route (barrel cannons and vines).
Seems good to me, but I think another option could be to tie it in with Donkey Konga. A battle on Bongos, and you have to do a downward attack on the proper bongo at the proper time, perhaps. A little crazy, maybe, but it could work.
Metroid: Zebes (travel through the caverns)
I'd chuck in some backtracking somewhere. So you go somewhere, find something, go back, use it to get through an obstacle and get out. Would make it Metroid-ish.
On that note, I'll also add a Safari Zone level to the Pokemon world. Battling a catching Pokeomn would have to be involved. And I'd keep F-Zero pretty much the same, perhaps making it more like the Lethal Marathon event.

They could give an option to make DK completely controllable with Bongos, but I doubt anyone will use it. But I think having a jungle beat stage with those cool clapping monkeys would be enough bongo love for one day I like the idea of a Safari Zone stage with loads of Pokemon hidden in the grass. Loads of ideas for Adventure Mode going through head!!

I always was fond of the idea of a 'Event Creator'. Set up custom battles. Set your own time limit, intelligence of the enemies, their size, and so forth. For example, a ten minute battle against an onslaught of thirty Giga Bowsers at level 9.

Seriously, I don't think you can change the default option. It's always set to time by default on mine and I've tried everything.
A few changes to the characters already available need to be made.... only a few, not all.
I think Ganondorf needs to have his own moves. Sorry current Ganondorf fans but you have to admit, him being a clone of Captain Falcon just doesn't make any sense. It's not like they'd have to look far for moves for him.... I'm sure they can come up with something.
Luigi is very different from Mario in Smash Brothers, but not at first glance. I think he needs to have some of his B button moves changed. He could also have different throws. Let's also change his voice to be more accurate to what Luigi's voice officially sounds like. In smash, his voice samples are just mario's with the pitch up.
Dr. Mario doesn't need to be in the game..... but he probably will be. I have no idea how to seperate him farther from Mario, I was thinking they should just make Dr. Mario as a different costume for Mario, but I can kinda already hear the complaints....
Let's see.... here's an idea. Keep Link the way he is... he's perfect.... but change Young Link to look like Windwaker's Link. The Cel Shaded, Blonde haired, Doe-eyed Link. He could have some different moves as well.... maybe one or two. Just to seperate the two Link's even farther, and make it look like they really are two different characters. I know they are different right now as they are, but not at first glance. They have different ranges, attributes and stats and crap like that... but to keep things interesting to the casual player.... you know what I'm saying.
Some balancing issues exist currently. Bowser sucks hands down (you can't argue that. 1 on 1 Bowser is toast... whirling fortress nothing....) .... there is NO REASON to ever use Zelda (except to recover, maybe use that foot of hers once or twice, then it's back to shiek). You know.... fix some things up. Kirby could seriously be better..... Yoshi can be impossible to kill.... DK needs to be better, Marth freaking rocks, while Roy stinks, and make it so that I don't start thinking on killing people people in real life when they pick Jigglypuff. (Maybe not put JP in the game at all.... please.... I would love that. It's disgusting and is too good. I know that wont' happen though.)
The percentages.... at the bottom of the screen.... give us some options here. Options to change the size, transparency, the location, or just turn them off. Sometimes they get in the way.... that's an issue that needs to be fixed. It might be fun to play without them. Another detail.... give us the option to turn on or off party balls, barrels, crates, capsules.... or maybe turn off the ability for them to explode.
Infinates.... it's too easy with the Ice Climbers.... Fox can be toned down just a bit, he's got his infinates.. Just something our friends at Hal labs better check for next time. Glithes.... they exist. Big time. They fixed a few in version 1.2 but they only fixed the fun cosmetic ones.
That's just the changes they can make without even adding anything...

Just to add that you're right to say there's no reason to use Zelda... but Sheik I use regularly! One of the best characters in the game. Maybe if they gave Takamaru all kinds of speed and ninja skills then I'd use him and we could lose Zelda altogether.

Lose Mr Game & Watch. I'm all for that. He's a stupid creation. He was created solely for the purpose of SSBM, and now he's showing up in other games too. Why not bring in a REAL Game & Watch character, like the Climber, or Balloon Man or something. There we go... people want Balloon Fighter, I say hire Balloon Man from Game & Watch Balloon Fight. He's got a story and a uniform and everything!
But seriously though... as quirky as Mr. Game & Watch is, he's just that... quirky. He wasn't even particularly well designed... looking more like the background characters than any of the main Game & Watch characters. Very disappointing.

Why remove any of the original characters (by which I mean the non-clone characters)? Sure, tweak 'em, but don't remove them completely. Thats just stupid, IMO.

NinjaRygar - you can change default settings. Just click on the time at the top of the screen where you chose characters, and you can set it to a stock battle where each player can have a set amount of lives.
I once did it so me and a friend had about 15+ (can't remember) lived each - it was neck-and-neck the whole way through, and a LONG battle, but it was cool! ;D
And as for Mr Game & Watch - I like him - he's cool. I say he should stay.

I think he means permanetly, though, but I'm sure there's a way to do it. You need to go via the menu, though, and not when in the character select screen.

To gain my respect, Mr. Game & Watch would have to be better designed, and a better fighter. And the lies about him being the hero of all Game & Watch games should be dropped.
As for dropping main characters: it's not stupid if it will help restore the balance of the game. I'm happy with most of them, but I wonder what the point of dropping in Bowser and Peach was when there was already one poor Mario fighter in the game (Yoshi). We didn't need two more that no-one would use.

I'm happy with most of them, but I wonder what the point of dropping in Bowser and Peach was when there was already one poor Mario fighter in the game (Yoshi). We didn't need two more that no-one would use. Wait...Peach isn't a bad character. She's high on the tiers.(In case you don't know the tiers were created by members of probably the largest SSBM message board. The high up members get together and discuss the pros and cons of each character and make this so people can see who is good and bad.) Here it is: Top: Sheik Fox Marth Upper: Peach Falco C. Falcon Samus High: Jigglypuff Dr. Mario Ganondorf Mario Ice Climbers Mid: Luigi Link Roy DK Pikachu Zelda Low: Ness Young Link Yoshi Kirby Mr. Game & Watch Bowser Bottom: Mewtwo Pichu As for Mr. Game & Watch, I like him. I know he's not really the star of all th G&W games, but they need someone to represent all of the games(Rather than just one, like Balloon Man or Climber) and since they looked diferent in most of the game, I think they did a pretty good job. And do we really know that he didn't star in most of the games? Some of them mention who you're playing, obviously those aren't Mr. Game & Watch, but the other don't say anything about your character. As time has gone on all characters have received at least slight changes. Now I'm not saying that they are Mr. G&W, or that I think they are, I just thought it's an interesting idea.
