I can't really see nintendo making a crossover game at all. I would have votes for square enix, but the reason that I didn't was the fact that the PAL version of SMRPG wasn't released.

Alex Kidd? No way. I agree with making a Nintendo crossover with Sega because I would love to play as anyone of the Gunstar Heroes!

Capcom-I wouldn't want them. It seems like in the Capcom vs. games it's 25 Street Fight character + Megaman and someone from Resident Evil. That's just boring. Capcom has plenty to pull from, not just the ones you named. Besides the various Street Fighter, Mega Man, and Resident Evil titles, we also got the Darkstalkers series, Final Fight series, Ghosts 'N Goblins/Ghouls 'N Ghosts series, Captain Commando(The coolest video game superhero ever), Devil May Cry, Breath of Fire series, Onimusha, Viewtiful Joe, Jin from Cyberbots(he was in the same situation as Fox/Captain Falcon, being a pilot who had to fight outside his vehicle), Dino Crisis, Plasma Sword, Power Stone and tons of classic and obscure arcade titles.

You'll come to realize that Sega and Nintendo aren't the only companies with TONS of franchises. Check out Namco and Capcom, which will be competing in the upcoming RPG/Fighter: Namco X Capcom (too bad its only for PS2. boo hoo ). They're both like a "Nintendo", but much more mature (and not as good either ).

'Mature' is pretty subjective. Both Namco and Capcom have their share of 'kid' franchises (Mega Man and Klonoa come to mind.)
But your right, all the companies I had for voting each have a large number of franchises to pull from (except Square Enix, which really only needs 2 to survive[FF and Dragon Quest], 2 to please the fans[Mana and Chrono], and a few they've pretty much forgotten about [Brave Fencer Musashi, SaGa, Bushido Blade, Actraiser, etc.]) So each are pretty fair game. Except that Square Enix and Konami aren't very likely at all, but they're big, important companies, so I decided to throw them in there anyway.

I didn't say that they didn't have a lot of characters, I said they never used them. In the Capcom vs. games half or more of the characters are from Street Fighter normally. (Although Namco vs. Capcom looks like it is going to have a lot more variety.)

All Star Battle Royale: Nintendo vs. Sega vs. Namco vs. Capcom.
That would be way too cool. All 3 of those have worked closely with Nintendo and have some great franchises. Imagine - 10 characters each, each from different franchises, with the main enemy from each series unlockable. That would be 80 fantastic characters. I'd love it.

That becomes quite difficult when it's not as clear-cut as hero/enemy. Would Capcom have to have each of their Mega Man series separate? Would Wily or Sigma be the main enemy?
I would like to see Nintendo vs. Capcom, just because Capcom do their 2D mad fighting games so well. I would love to see their take on Nintendo's heroes.
But alas I fear it will never happen.
But it doesn't need to be a fighting game does it? People keep ranting about Kingdom Hearts style action RPGs, but it could work in many other ways as well.

I thought about the bad-guy thing afterwards, and it would put up some problems - Just in terms of Nintendo, you've got things like who would be the Pokemon bad guy and who would rather, say, King K. Rool than other possible characters.
I would still like to see major enemies teaming up though. So Bowser, and Dr. Robotnik, or whatever. With an army of Pacman Ghost slaves.

If you take out a gun, point it to me and force me to say a company name, it would be Hudson Soft (if you talk about 3rd party companies) which is not in the list. The reason is as simple as This company doesn't have any special relationship with Nintendo other than Mario Party.
But what I want to say is: All or nothing. Why? Here's the reasons:
Firstly, I've heard of ideas of having SSB-like games featuring Nintendo and Sega, or sometimes with Namco. But then, if Nintendo can develop good relationship with certain companies, why not make something like "Videogame Hero Battle" to include all these companies? *Imagines a title screen with copyright text taking more space than the game logo*
Then secondly, developing such a game can develop good relationship with certain companies for a long term (If the game is to be continued). If it can be made sure that the relationship of them will be at a good state for a period without something like merging or acquistion (I don't like things like a company "eats" another company that is actually better).
Then, onto "nothing". Nintendo can, as a good choice, choose to develop its own cameo-filling game like Warioware. Or it can remain sticking with those 2nd party like the SSB series. *shouts "HAL rules!!!"*
And to choose among these two, I like the latter more.
By the way, a Nintendo x Namco crossover is already there, as what you can se in the Mario Kart Arcade GP. (Oooh yeah! Haven't seen Mario appearing on arcades for a long time!)
If you count DDR Mario Mix or even the F-Zero GX custom machines making tool, then there's more than one case. .... Then where is Nintendo x Square? Where? Don't tell me that Geno appearing in Mario & Luigi is a crossover!!!

Hudson Soft was Nintendo's first EVER licensee. That's a pretty good relationship right there. But they've already done a crossover with Konami and some toy company on Gamecube

I like this idea, however, I'd replace 'villain' with 'another character from the same series', so it would be less limiting of the character choices. Also, just as a bonus, I would expect the stage backgrounds would contain hundreds of cameos by the characters who aren't playable.

The characters I remember seeing in that from good o' Hudson were Bomberman, Master Higgins(from Adventure Island), the wolf guy from Bloody Roar, and a character who appeared in Momataro Festival on the GBA. And that toy company is Takara. Their only real cool contribution to the game was Optimus Prime and Megatron (yes, the Transformers.)

Sonic was supposed to be SSB Melee, but was dropped due to lack of time. One reason being the Dreamcast was discontinued in March, and SSB Melee was released in December. Dout it. HIGHLY
