Whose emo in Kingdom Hearts? Riku is just a badass, and Roxas had a fun life with friends and ice cream and summer break only to find out he was just an empty shell made from Sora's memories. Though this doesn't make him emo, just confused.
The heartless concept is that if someones heart is stolen, they become a heartless, and if they had a strong heart, a nobody is created to house their memories. I'm not even going to go into the "spirit of Disney". This series is so "Disney" it's oozing Magic Kingdom. There are hardly any FF characters and in the case of 358/2 Days, the only FF character is a Moogle.

You can't look us straight in the eye and tell us the focus on both Disney and Final Fantasy went out the window once the sequels started rolling in, Teev. It's blatantly obvious that Nomura is indulging in a sea of nigh-incomprehensible metaphor diarrhea (as TEi likes to put it ) fanfic-ish original characters and ridiculously contrived backstories. People went in into this series expecting a Disney-Square crossover, what they got in the long run is pretty disappointing when you put it into perspective.

Maybe I'm just dense, but I've never really seen the metaphor in the series. But then again, maybe I'm just looking at hearts, Nobodies and whatnot in story terms.
Also, by definition, the Nobodies can't really be emo. Nobodies lack hearts, and as such, most don't really seem to have emotions, just vague character traits (Larxene being a sadist, Luxord's gambling fetish). So, yeah.

Nomura is indulging in a sea of nigh-incomprehensible metaphor diarrhea (as TEi likes to put it ) Oh man, I totally forgot I'd said that, and here I was about to mention the same concept all over again. XD But it still stands; I adore the general concept of Heartless/Nobodies, but I think they pull the metaphor thin by being pretentious. Again, this says nothing about the games' quality, because they're fun, just that some of the plot elements are unnecessarily complex. I totally don't buy the fact that Nobodies are apathetic, though. Axel is the main offender here; he's shown desperation and sadness when trying to recruit Roxas back into the Organization and fails, and when he tries to bring out Roxas' memories in Sora, and he develops a friendship with Roxas and The Mary Sue in KH Fraction. The Nobodies are only emotionless whenever it's convenient; if they felt no emotions, they'd just be cardboard cut-outs that only spoke in monotone. Emotion is a slippery thing, yes, but characters are hardly characters without it. Even that monosyllabic (and incredibly hot) girl in Sipher's gang showed a little emotion, particularly when defending Sipher after he lost that Struggle practice match against Roxas.

Dude, yeah, what's up with that? The only Nobodies I've noticed that don't seem to show any emotion are Xemnas, Zexion, Vexen, Saix, etc. But Larxene is a huge bitch. She shows so much sadism. As for Axel, he does have emotion, but he has no regrets of killing Vexen and Zexion (did he kill Zexion?). As for Saix, he's just a douche. He refers to Xion as a creature, which gets Roxas all pissed off.
Xaldin also mentions in Beast's Castle "How could anyone love a beast?" Which gets Roxas wondering...

A colleague of mine from another part of the internet has told me that in terms of gameplay content this game pretty much trumps all the previous ones, and that's essentially what I wanted KH to be from the beginning: completely freeroaming with a lot of customization and playable characters. Only downside is that the game is basically ALL about the Organization and the stuff I hate about KH. Even having Goofy and Donald as unlockable Mission Mode-only character doesn't make up for that... Ah well, I'll still try to get the game in the future, anyway.

Well, if you like customization, this game definitely has it. Also, athough I wasn't a fan of the Organization before, seeing what they are like behind the scenes is an awesome experience. When the members who were sent to Castle Oblivion are reported dead, you get to see the remaining members reactions (like Demyx being excited that Larxene is gone).
