For those that have not heard about this Wii exclusive game, it was created by Steven Speilberg (yes, the movie director) and EA. The game is about destroying tower/structures made out of blocks/bloxs and uses a very good physics engine to make it even more real. Speilberg designed this as a game he could play with his kids. Here's the recent trailer for some footage and a preview from IGN.com.The game even has an editing function that will allow you to trade creations over WiiConnect24.

Aside from how it's made by EA, it looks pretty sweet.

Some impressions have come in from Joystiq.com and they make Boom Blox sound like a very good game. Read the sentence from the article below. "It's feels like a Miyamoto game," someone observes. "Yeah, it's very first-party," agrees another. The only negative to this game could be the Friend Code situation but it sounds like EA is working around that by making some sort of distibution system. IGN did say to EA they should put in a SSBB (Stage Builder) stage-of-the-day system.

Aside from how it's made by EA, it looks pretty sweet. Umm, what's wrong with EA? IMO, they're my second-favorite videogame company, and you all know who takes #1 And this game looks awesome! Although I'd only buy it to blow stuff up, I think it'd still be worth playing for it's actual purpose!

EA sucks because every time I put one of their games into my system it corrupts the memory and tries to format it.
Also, the gameplay in EA Games is ALMOST always utter tosh. They luck out from time to time, but the corporate ethos doesn't allow for care and consideration to go into their game development. Rush it out!! Make big bucks!! Abuse our staff!!
That's why EA sucks.

EA is a mixed bag. They run the gambit of quality. Sometimes bad, others good, and a lot of mediocrity. It also depends on who developed it as EA published the Orange Box Boom Blox is a crazy idea, but it really comes how it plays. I may need to research more. I've only seen the trailer.

I'm willing to bet that whoever came up with this concept was either high or drunk at the time (or possibly both!).
Regardless, I'm not too happy about EA, for the reason that Fry suggests (although I am thankful for them publishing TimeSplitters: FP though).

EA have released a lot of great games. It's the games they developed, however, that give the impression of being nothing more than money generators.

*cough*Madden NFL series*cough*
Honestly, I can't believe that people would pay money to play these kinda games. *facepalm*
Although this looks OK so far, I seriously don't think I'll be saving up to buy this any time soon.

No doubt that they made good games, but when their main source of new games is just various rehashes of sports games, that's not very good. It's such a waste to buy the new Madden every year, considering it's a couple of dollars a year or two later.

*cough*Madden NFL series*cough* Sure, EA's literally milking the fuck out of Madden, but you gotta admit, these games are good for parties. I never play sports games alone though. My dad does that (he also makes fun of me for playing games like Zelda, but I suppose this is what I get when I live with a man who collects jerseys )
