The "Love Train" video is up at the official Crystal Bearers site. As usual, there's not much to it, but it's cute.
However, it looks like the next video, "Hot Pursuit", may be the last one, because the site lists another wallpaper after it.

I personally expecting to see an "actual train" in that video but still, it was sort of amusing. The folks on NeoGAF were saying that there was only 12 updates and this does match up.

"Hot Pursuit" video is up and is just Layle chasing down a monster . . . . . . While riding a Chocobo. This also appears to be the last video update, I wouldn't be too surprised if the new logo might be like the one in the magazine article Nester posted.

(Sorry, I couldn't resist! ) Here is a bunch of new scans of The Crystal Bearers from some Japanese magazine. I can't get much from it, but there are a few new screens and renders to stare at.

TONS of new info on The Crystal Bearers! First, here are higher quality versions of the scans I posted above, which are apparently from Famitsu. And here is IGN's coverage of the article. And here is 1up's coverage of it. There's a whole bunch of details revealed here. Some we already knew, and some we didn't. First of all, the game is only estimated to be 60% complete, so don't hold your breath. It is, in fact, like an "open world" game. Actions you use to attack monsters can also be used to harass innocent townsfolk if you feel like it. People and monsters will react differently depending on how you treat them, and your reputation will change. There's no experience point or level-up system. Layle's abilities are modified strictly by equipping accessories. While it's a single-player game, other players may be able to interact with Layle and the world with other remotes. (Perhaps like Super Mario Galaxy.) It's being produced by Akitoshi Kawazu, who I don't think has directly produced a Crystal Chronicles games since the original GameCube version. I hope we see some of his avant garde design in this one.

I already posted X-Play's written review, but now their video review is up, and it's very positive. In fact, they say "if you've been on the fence, now is the time to finally take the plunge into this franchise spin-off." Again, they score it a 4 out of 5. Also, Nintendo Life decided to do a retro review of the original Crystal Chronicles on the GameCube. They gave it a 9/10. Personally, I think the story in the original game is better than its given credit for. True, it's not a detailed story with lots of twists and melodrama, like many RPG's, but I think its strength comes in the way it's told. It catches players who are used to having the story spelled out for them off guard, and I think that's why a lot of people tend to have a poor opinion of it. But for people who are observant and don't take NPC chatter for granted, it's quite fun to see it unfold.

Apparently the official Japanese site for The Crystal Bearers now has some new stuff on it. It's pretty easy to check out because the navigation links change to English when you hover over them. There are also some new screen shots that you can access from here. And here's an awesome scan from Jump magazine. Check out that shot of Layle aiming at a dragon with a big gun!

Translations have came in for the magazine scan you posted Nester. -Quais/Kuais (red haired guy) A citizen of freedom! Layle’s partner from the Selkie tribe, someone who you can really put your trust upon!! “You didn’t try enough.” (the subtitle on the screen with Quais and Layle. The text blurb to the side is [Layle’s partner!]) [Mysterious attack!] (blurb over the screen where Amidatelion is over Layle) ‘A big event in the world ruled by the Lilty tribe!!’ A military nation. A world ruled by the Lilty tribe is the stage! When a member of the rumored destroyed ancient Yuke tribe appears, Layle’s adventure begins!! The member of the Yuke tribe who wants destruction! After that meeting, Layle goes in search of his partner Quais whereabouts!!" Also some folks on NeoGAF have been translating the new JP FFCC:TCB site. Concept It was 22 years ago where I first made a challenging product, it was the very first Final Fantasy. To me, this was how you would make an rpg . I have put all those thoughts/ideas in that product. And now. The hardware has changed from the famicon to the wii, but the thoughts haven't changed. The me right now, A Final Fantasy I would want to make, it would be Final Fantasy The Crystal Bearers. While continuing production, I'm aiming for all the wii users to be able to enjoy it. Kawazu Akitoshi About the prologue, not much is mentioned there besides of what we know. IE Yuke race existed thousends of years ago, but their existence was forgotten over time. How there was a war between the Lilties and the Yukes, the first one who would destroy the crystal of the other race. Yukes had strong magic at their side but the Lilties managed to destroy the Yukes's crystal first and thus the Yukes appearance disappeared from the world (not sure in what way disappeared, it didn't mention death). And the present where blades have been exchanged for firearms. Magic's existence has been forgotten. And the Lilties use the power of the Crystals, that was meant for use in supporting people in their everyday life (Okay, I'm lost here now lol Totally not sure about the last sentence). EDIT: More from GAF. Some EoT scratch cards have TCB pictures on them. Also looks like EoT meets the original FF.

Here are some more details on The Crystal Bearers. Also, here is a scan from Famitsu for My Life as a Darklord. I'm guessing that Selkie character in the artwork is the new Dark Lord. (Which makes sense if you've played My Life as a King.)

More scans of The Crystal Bearers and My Life as a Darklord, as well as a bunch of other games, Wii and otherwise. For Crystal Bearers, there are a bunch of screenshots and a render featuring Keiss. As for the Darklord, she seems to have a Harvey Two-Face thing going on. EDIT: New screens and clean artwork for My Life as a Darklord. Apparently it's due to be released in Japan in October for 1,000 points. If that's the same price we get outside of Japan, then that's a bit cheaper than My Life as a King (which was 1,500 points). No word on DLC, yet.

The "split design" of the Darklord is really quite impressive. Moving on to The Crystal Bearers there is new footage from the Japanese site. NeoGAF is saying that it may update every Friday. It's footage of the prologue and has Keiss flying a small aircraft with Layle riding on top with the huge gun escorting the cruise ship. Very cool to see. EDIT: English subbed prologue.

More My Life as a Darklord details. According to IGN, the main character's name is "Mira" in Japan, but will simply be called "Miss" in the English version. The game is scheduled for release in Japan in June (not October). No release date has yet been announced for other territories. It's also been pointed out that Princess Fiona from the original Crystal Chronicles on the GameCube may make an appearance. I noticed King Leo in the artwork, but not Fiona, because I never finished that particular side-quest in the original game. I do have a save from a game-in-progress, tho, so I can certainly go back to it.

Looks like TCB site might be updating soon. Are they our saviours or our executioners? They are . . . the crystal bearers.Man, that line sounds cool.
