Nothing much to discuss. All we know now is that Sonic is unleashed. Sounds like he might also have rabies...

Yeah, I can't do anything with just a name. I'll be back when SEGA announces some details.

This might be that "real Sonic game" that Sega annouced awhile back. Just the name makes me excited. Although I was excited for ShtH and 06 too.

Linky. Also, I have no idea exactly how it's related to the game just yet, but... And! This Sonic News story has screenshots. If the CG ones are anything to go by, it looks like the game opens with Eggman finally defeating Super Sonic.

DERP!This game does look good, but I don't think it's coming to Wii...

The gameplay video looks interesting. A 2D Sonic game with one or two bits of the 3D Sonic games thrown in (eg. combat, which is one of the few things I thought was quite good about the 3D Sonic games). I have time for 2D Sonic, but I hope it's done well. I can see those crazy action-angles getting quite annoying after a while. Plus my faith in them is shaken anyway

Sonic games are at best when the game plays like a 2D platformer. Basically it looks nice so far, though I don't like the part with the camera floating behind Sonic. Like they did in that 7 rings game.. also I dig the tribal theme it has going on.
Now it's waiting for the second trailer where Shadow and/or Silver show their mugs and ruin the whole game. Or some new hedgehog in a different pallet with a different fruity power.

It does look interesting, and the music is good, but Sonic becomes a warewolf................
Also, some of the images names imply a Wii release, but it might very well be multi platform.

Plus my faith in them is shaken anyway A lot of those crazy angles looked like they were for show rather than being part of the game. Sonic preview videos have a habit of showing gameplay from angles that aren't actually possible in-game, and some of the angles that video shows would make gameplay impossible. Also, Wii and 360 versions have been confirmed. A PS3 version is likely too.

I would've been surprised if there wasn't a Wii version considering that Secret Rings sold over a million copies on the Wii, and Sonic 06 sold very poorly on the PS360. Y'know, it's interesting. When I play thru levels of the Subspace Emissary as Sonic in SSBB, I keep thinking, "This almost feels like playing a Sonic game," even tho it's a beat-em-up and the levels aren't really designed that way. There aren't any loops and such, but even then, the controls and the way it plays just feel a bit like classic Sonic. So, seeing the 2D bits in that trailer are somewhat encouraging. Especially since SSBB is probably the best game Sonic has been in in the last several years. Even despite the games, I have to admit, I still love the little blue guy. Maybe it's simply the design or the attitude, and maybe there's a little nostalgia in there, but I just can't not like him!

From the Edge magazine Brawl review: "Sonic is realised magnificently: speedy, powerful, full of cheek, altogether the most definitive version of the character in years; how strange that it has taken Nintendo to remind us why we liked him in the first place." It got a 9/10, by the way... which is pretty high for an Edge review. Not as high as Galaxy... but hey...

^ Yeah, I read the Edge review at Next Gen, and they're right. Sonic deserves better than what Sega does with him. Playing as him in the SSE is almost a tease because it isn't a true Sonic experience, yet you can imagine a real Sonic game feeling similar in terms of control.

Well, this one actually might not suck. Uhh, whee? In all seriousness, I might try this game out. But first, I'll have to listen to reviews to be absolutely sure.

Let's face it...Brawl is the best game Sonic has been in in a decade. ;D
This whole concept behind Sonic Unleashed seems awfully familiar. It just screams hardcore failure; if this game is actually good, it'll be a sign of the apocolypse. Yeah, I'm veeeery cynical about this whole thing.
Oh, and watch this game introduce the new character, Hedgehog the Hedgehog! He's a brown Hedgehog who looks like Sonic, except he's also brown with one red eye and one green eye, and his quills fan outward rather than sweeping down or up. He has three earrings in one ear and has forward-swept hairtennae, with black gloves and red boots that are totally not like Sonic's. And the really weird part is that he's the timelost son of Shadow and Sonic and Amy and Sonic, sent into the distant past from the future, only to get timelost in the present. He's a mysterious badass and anyone who learns his highly original and mysterious name needs to be fed to Hedgehog's dark master, Dark Master.
Sorry, this isn't cynicism. This is outright realism.
