Yeah... 'cause everyone knows Zelda invented werewolves. It's fact! Of course... Sonic isn't actually a werewolf here. If anything, he's more like a... weregorilla. According to ONM, the Monster Sonic portions of the game have a very Donkey Kong vibe to them.

Yeah... 'cause everyone knows Zelda invented werewolves. It's fact! It's not the concept of werewolves in general, it's that Sonic the Werewolf comes in on the heels of two fantastic games wherein you control wolf characters. Watch - Unleashed! will also feature some imp-like creature that rides on Sonic's back every time he transforms. Coming from Sonic Team, such lack of originality is hardly new.
Next, in the Sonic the Hedgehog universe: Sonic tries to become a successful rapper and stars in his own rhythm game, featuring stylish paper-cut-out graphics, while combating hordes of themed robots that have been hijacked by Robotnik and programmed to do evil. Sonic will also start weilding a seven-foot sword that looks like a kitchen knife, and the XBox 360 version will have only five Achievements that can be obtained easily within the first two minutes of gameplay via button mashing. Plus, Rouge becomes infected with a virus that turns her into a zombie and can only be passed on through her vampiric bites ot other characters, while Tails discovers he's the last heir to a family of vampire-slayers and sets out with his new whip to set things right!

But it's, uh... not a werewolf. Or even remotely wolf-like. When Sonic is transformed into his monster form, he becomes stronger and more agile, but considerably slower, meaning you have to get through the stages swinging around like a monkey. That's... hardly wolf-like.

Can't we just agree that Were-Sonic is going to stink? In every game that Sonic Team has made since Sega stopped making consoles, they have always had this part that stunk.
Meanwhile, Dimps can make decent Sonic games. Backbone Entertainment can probably make decent Sonic games if they got rid of that whole Rivals Thing. You can bet Bioware is going to make a decent Sonic game. Heck, even NINTENDO, Sega's old rival, seems to have a good grasp on what makes him Sonic the Hedgehog!
Maybe Sega should just start outsourcing all their Sonic games?

Wolves and werewolves are not the same, Sonic's werewolve like transformation should not be compared to the wolves of Okami and TP. Technaly werewolves resemble humiond wolves and run around on two legs but can walk on all fours if needed too. So the whole swinging around stages like a monkey isn't that bad as it sounds.

To me, it seems more like a Jak 2 kind of thing. Some experiment made him demonic and stuff.

^ The Xbox 360 version looks good. We have yet to see any footage of the Wii version. I wonder how/if it'll use the motion sensitivity.
Welcome to the forum, BTW!

I saw that a couple NiGHTS nights ago, and I'll say here what I told the person who linked it to me: every time my mind starts fooling itself into believing that this may actually be a good Sonic game, I remember the werewolf aspect and realize it's going to be shite.
Also, quicktime events? Please, SonicTeam, none of that X(

RE4 pulls it off, dunno how it'd work as an entire game though.

Know why it looks good? Because it's Sonic running around really fast in a good looking level, kinda like the old days. Just hope the later levels won't turn out dull, SA2's first level was all neat city stuff but after that...
Not getting my hopes up though, here's why 1. Werewolf thing will probably be annoying and buggy 2. You know the game will get a retarded story and takes itself too seriously, again 3. New throw-away character gets introduced that nobody cares about. That or Shadow shows his mug riding a jeep
Still this trailer makes the game look pretty sweet
