Silver's voice seemed perfect to me, because was in his early teens, and was an innocent and naive guy. Chip is... a tiny dog thing, a voice that deep just doesn't sound right. His Japanese voice fits much better.

But I thought we were looking to avoid anime cliches.

Are we? I enjoy them. They're funny. XD

But you said before that you liked Silver's character because it wasn't an anime cliche! Make up your mind! *insert DiU's avatar here* I think think Chip's voice being completely unfitting is pretty funny in itself, and given the tone of the rest of the game, that seems fine to me.

Boy those broken jars look crappy in that video you posted, the graphics kinda stink on the Wii compared to the rest. I mean I knew they weren't gonna be as good, but it looks like there was little effort put in. Anyway...
Yet another long boring tutorial like in Secret Rings. They should just stick them all together instead of having to wait to learn how to jump.
I must say though I am extremely pleased with the cartoony looks of the human characters at the end of this video. The dialogue is actually good, well for a Sonic game. I have high hopes for the cutscenes. They're simple and lighthearted.

But you said before that you liked Silver's character because it wasn't an anime cliche! Make up your mind! I do! But that doesn't mean I don't enjoy the clichés too. If I didn't, there's no way I could even touch this series, with Silver being pretty much the only marginally original one. And like you said before, even he is very similar to Trunks from DBZ. EDIT: Is that video the Wii version? You don't actually get to explore the towns? Just... select people to talk to from a menu. DUMB. So glad I have a 360.

I actually think the Wii version's graphics are better than most other games on the system. I'd like to try both versions just to see what has what over the other. They both look good to me.

Here's something disappointing, the Wii version lacks two worlds that will only be on the 360 and PS3.

Everything I've heard about the Wii version has just made me want it less and less. And the video I saw of the Wii version of Apotos had what looked like late PS1 era textures on the scenery, complete with gaps where the edges meet.

Today I played a copy of Sonic 2006 I got for cheap. Upon actually playing the first couple of levels as Sonic, I gotta say that the worst things about it are definitely the wooden acting and the annoyingly long load times. I did manage to play the first part of White Acropolis, and based on the hideous handling of the snowboard I can only imagine the game going downhill from there.

Heh! That was okay! You know I'm liking this new side of Sonic, no longer melodramatic, but lighthearted and funny. I think SEGA gets it.

They should take that film and make a whole series out of it. It'll be like the AoStH reborn. Now if only Sonic spoke as little in the games themselves as he did in that movie...

Heh! That was okay! You know I'm liking this new side of Sonic, no longer melodramatic, but lighthearted and funny. I think SEGA gets it. Oh for god's sake. XD It's no more lighthearted than Sonic Riders, or Rush Adventure, or... the many, many comedic moments they've slipped into EVERY FUCKING GAME IN THE SERIES. Including SA2, the most serious game in the series! If Sonic Team (not Sega) "get it", then they "got it" way back when Sonic Adventure was made, too. I swear, get into a conversation about Sonic and all sense is fired out the window with a crossbow. XD Anyway, uh... yes, the movie is great. I'm wondering (perhaps oddly) about the character designer, actually. Those two camera ghosts have all the trademarks of a Uekawa design, but the girl doesn't. I wonder if they're actually in the game...?

The few lame comedic moments in those games were extremely overshadowed by the drama and terrible acting.
The difference is that the basis is a quarky and fun style, VS a realistic dramatic style with some comedy thrown in.
