If worse came to worst, they could've had him use that big honkin' wrench as a weapon.

Couldn't let this post die. Sorry for the bump fest. So if I were to reveive the topic......... I was thinking. Someone mentioned givinmg Sami Snake's moves. I'd like to see that for Smash4. Get a female, a 2nd party and Advance Wars. But, can you really make a good moveset for Andy? I think I suggested that way back when on a moveset topic, and I still stand by it. It makes a lot of sense to me. And I still think it'll be a generic infantrymen as the fighter. If not, an AT. They cannot ignore Advance Wars OR Punch Out with ATs.

Why a generic infantry? Save for the Pokemon, there's no real precedent for using generic characters in lieu of actual characters.
And in the case of Pokemon, the Pokemon are the recognizable stars. Less so the trainers. So it works there.

Why use a Generic unit when you have all those CO´s full of personality? you know, just because they are commanders doesn´t mean they can´t fight (think of it, if they are commanders that means they are excellent Soldiers). Here some ideas for move sets for the CO´s.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Sami (infantry) Since Sami its an infantry specialist, I picture her fighting like an infantry unit would:
B (Grenade) Sami trows a grenade, If you hold B you can control the trajectory of the grenade (similar to Yoshi Egg throw) B-tilt (capture Flag) Sami puts a Orange Star Army flag in front of her damaging the enemy, the flag remains in the field until someone picks it up, If Sami uses Defense in front of the Flag, she will recover 1hp per second. B-Up (Parachute) A parachute comes out giving Sami temporally improved recovering capabilities, it protects her from attacks from above (and works like Peach Parasol) B-Down (Bazooka) Sami aims a Bazooka to the Floor, the explosion damages nearby enemies, if done in the air it shoots the explosive downwards and it propels Sami up a little
Defense .- Sami hides inside a small Army tent.
A Moves.- Punches, Kicks and hits with the rear part of her rifle, no real gunfire.
Final Smash.- ( Victory March ) every one else but Sami (and her team mates if this is a Team match) starts moving in in Slow motion, also Sami and her teammates Attack goes up 50%
------------------------------------------------------------
Andy (mechanic)
Andy fights while riding a Small tank like the one from the cover of the Original Advance Wars.
B (Cannon Fire) The tank fires a Cannon ball, it moves somewhat slowly, but if hit, it will explode. B tilt (Forward charge) The tank uses a rocket propulsor to move forward at high speed, (it also works in the air, so it can be used as a recovery) the fire from the propulsor can also damage foes. B Up (Rocket Fuel) The tank uses its propulsor to jump higher, if done in the Floor, it also creates a small fire that will damage enemies. B Down (Hyper Repair) Andy starts repairing his tank, he will get 1hp back for every second he is doing this.
Defense.- Andy gets inside the tank.
A moves.- Explosions and hits from the tip of the tank´s cannon, punches and kicks from Andy and of course some hitting with those giant wrenches.
Final Smash.-(Hyper Upgrade) Andy rebuilds his tank as a Megatank and fires all his Cannons, the projectile have homing abilities, so they will search the opponents and destroy
----------------------------------------------------------------
Max (ofensive specialist)
Probably the easiest character to come with a move set, but also the most boring one, I can easily picture him fighting like Ganondorf did in Melee, even being the new "Slow Cp. Falcon" if Ganondorf gets totally redone, if someone wants to do a Move set for him, go ahead ;D

Fire Emblem was already held as a title in the West, I think. I read about it years ago, where somebody had the rights to a Western "Fire Emblem" already, so Nintendo couldn't bring it over right away. And even if Ness stays, which would rock, I wouldn't doubt Mother 3 stuff being in the game. C'mon: Japan is getting this game too. And, frankly, having Mother 3 fighters would be more incentive to get the game ported... I really want Kumatora and Flint w/ Boney, personally I think I can guess what the problem was... It was that OVA based on the third Fire Emblem game that ADV Films published in the US in 1997, which technically counts as Marth's first appearence in US shores... Usually, anime dub companies like to keep control of the animes they dub for Western shores... It's essentially why Nintendo has a distain for using Nintendo anime, manga, cartoons, and comics in Super Smash Bros. Either way, it seems that save for Krystal, Dedede, and maybe Ridley (Ridley IS NOT sized wrong, as everyone else has a different size as well), all the definates have been shown. Since we do need more females, why shouldn't we use Sami and represent Nintendo's last major ongoing franchise? Throw in Mac and Takamaru, and for the rest of the new ones from Nintendo franchises, we can go wacky!

I've been reading this thread and I noticed some debate over whether the Miis should be playable characters. Personally, I don't think so. But I have an idea how to get them in the game.
Instead of fighting polygons or wireframes, have a fighting Mii parade! They don't need moves, they just punch and kick. Imagine you're doing survival mode and you're one Mii KO away from unlocking some level and your little sister's Mii knocks you off the edge.

I would certainly enjoy beating up my family! ;D *ahem* Aside from my personal issues... I would really like the Mii's to be shown as such. A Mii as a character would be fine by me, but not with others. This idea is the best I've heard in terms of Mii's getting in the game.

I mean, he did the a 3 on the poll, as did Krystal. I wouldn't rule him out. I'd like to see Sami in Smash replace Snake.

Pikmin stuff needs to be directly in battles. I'm shocked its symbol hasn't been used yet for anything in Smash Bros. DOJO!!.
I still like the idea of Alice being in Brawl, but I don't have much against arcade's/Famicom's Balloon Fighter now, because Pokémon Trainer just showed that proper nouns aren't really needed as names for characters.

That reminds me Johans Nidorino. I am a bit sick of Ballon Fighter. For one, we have Ice Climbers. But for the most part, he really generic. I mean, at least the Ice Climbers have names, and have some what of a personality. Alice is a better choice becuase at least she has character.

MEGATON BUMP
I found this interesting. Over at GameFAQ, they did a most wanted poll. The results
Mega man-23 Isaac-21 Ridley-11 Sora-11 Geno-11 Captain Olimar-10 Bowser Jr-8 Vaati-7 Ray 01-7 Krystal-7 Lucario-7 Wolf-6 King K. Rool-4
I'm surprised Issac is so popular all of a sudden. I really want him in this game. Maybe, just maybe.

That is very interesting, though, American's don't really have a choice for who's in Brawl, sadly...

I'd say what America wants must have some effect. Sonic isn't very popular in Japan, after all...
