Wow...I never knew. Thank you. But, Rare still makes good games for Microsoft. They have Banjo Kazooie 3 coming just around the corner. They don't make many good games any more. Viva Pinata was their last good one. I guess you're right. I heard Kameo and Perfect Dark Zero weren't really good. I wouldn't know, I don't have a 360.

I downloaded the demos of Kameo and Perfect Dark Zero once, and I did not like them at all. I do love Viva Piñata though.
Saying Viva Piñata is Rare's last good game is just silly. It hasn't even been out for a year and the only games they have released since then are Diddy Kong Racing DS and Jetpac Refuelled, both remakes of older games.

Yoshi's Island DS had terrible level design, but it was still worthy enough to own and at least attempt to get 100% on those insanely hard final levels. Not the best of sequels, but one nonetheless that didn't suck as much as Yoshi's Story (which was fun, but sooooo easy)
What Donkey Kong needs is another game like Jungle Beat, but with the addition of the other characters (at least Diddy) and the "we're not taking ourselves that seriously" attitude that I think a lot of people liked the DKC games for. It's great to see DK branching out into new territory, pulling a Mario and coming out with stuff like King of Swing, Bongo Blast, etc., but it is true that the majority of people remember DK, nowadays, as a gorilla who hopped around a jungle with his monkey buddy beating up crocodiles and beavers. That's all that really matters, in the end.

Jungle Beat was taking itself seriously? I thought it was the silliest DK game ever made! And that's why I loved it. ;D

I found to be the most un-Donkey Kong thing ever made that happened to have Donkey Kong in it.
People speak of a game breathing new life into the franchise, when said game had virtually nothing to do with said franchise except for the main character. I'd have rather they created a new IP for it like they did with Pikmin.
Could you imagine if the 100 Marios demo was a real game, or if any other franchise was taken and given a new control scheme at the expense of everything else that the franchise was known for artistically speaking?
In short, I'm with Flip in this one.

Firstly, I meant the whole "not taking itself seriously" bit as more of a self-realization that it's just a game. DKC had Cranky Kong to thank for that. He always had quips about how lazy the designers were, how crappy the game was, and how stupid the players always are going to be. I liked that, despite the fact that, as a child, I could not STAND the DKC games (for the simple fact that, and this is for lack of a better reasoning as a 10 year old mind can only create so much, the games weren't "Nintendo made")
Jungle Beat was a silly game, but it didn't have the wit and humor that DKC had. And, looking back, I DID appreciate that, if anything, from the DKC games. Otherwise, they were definitely pretty standard with nothing really cool to contribute (ooo... it's like Mario without the powerups and Tails is following you).
Hence, they need to just take a better gameplay formula (Jungle Beat) and mix it with the cooler aspects of DKC (humor, Diddy Kong) and it would be an awesome game.

Although I never noticed while playing it, I definately would've liked Jungle Beat more if Diddy were in it. Perhaps a choice of character, with Diddy being faster and more agile with those crazy swinging tricks, while DK kills enemies easier.
But, aside from the lack of Diddy (I don't mind the humour, Conker aside, I always found Rare's humour to be quite corny) Jungle Beat just seemed perfect to me.

I think to make the Rare fans happy, Nintendo should actual put NST to work. For the most part, they pretty much sit back and do nothing, despite being an a,mazing dev team. Maybe have them do DKC4.

*raises a frosty mug to Flip's idea* There would truly be a DK game worth playing. I'd get into it and I don't even like Donkey Kong games that much at all XD

Jungle Beat its a blast! Is one of the few games that I actually play every time I want to relieve some stress, I think that part of the reason of why people don't like it its because it follows the DKC template quite close, it just has a different cast of characters, lest see: Donkey Kong has country / Jungle Beat has
Donkey Kong-- check / check Bananas-- check / check Animal Friends-- check / check, just new ones Auto scrolling levels-- Mine cart, roller coaster, etc / Hoffer levels Barrels-- check / you hit them to play Bees-- check / Check, just not zingers Introduced new Kongs-- Every DKC does it! / The evil Kongs (I really like em!) Repeated Bosses-- check / check Last boss returns a second time-- check / Check If Jungle Beat had TNT barrels instead of exploding Pineapples, Rambi instead of Hoffer and King K. rool instead of the Cactus King, it could easily been called DKC4

The big question: WHY did they change all the characters? What was wrong with them? They may as well have not used Donkey Kong as the player character! I found to be the most un-Donkey Kong thing ever made that happened to have Donkey Kong in it. Two Words: Mario Party. Maybe I should've said the most un-Donkey Kong thing ever that has the Donkey Kong name on it.

The big question: WHY did they change all the characters? What was wrong with them? They may as well have not used Donkey Kong as the player character! Because they want to expand the universe and explore new areas with the character. Personally, I preferred the bright, colorful world of Jungle Beat as opposed to DKC's more dreary Kongo Isle. The colors were too drab, the levels were all so... boring and dark. Everything was caves and pirates and water. Jungle Beat had soaring skies and colorful jungles and crazy pyramids that I sorely wanted in a DK game. It was just a better atmosphere overall
