I don't mean villains, but enemies, like Goombas and Octoroks.
My favorites are the Chain Chomps and Pokeys from the Mario games, and the Miniblins from the Wind Waker. They crack me up, and also remind me of evil Stitches. XD

My fave would probably have to be Spike, aka. Gabon (same name in Japan, different names in the US). The little spike-ball spitting frog thing from SMB3 and Yoshi's Story... oh, and Paper Mario 1 and 2, again with different names.
If not, then... hmm... Fat Shy Guy from SMW2:YI ;D

I agree with Fryguy; very nice topic! There are so many enemies...  ...ok here we go. Goombas (I just love it when you squish them!) Nitpickers [red bird in level in Ice Climber](they're very annoying but funny when you hit them!) Metroids (Very scary in Metroid Prime!!) Shreikbats [from Metroid Prime] (very scary too!) Chu Chus [from LoZ:WW] (cute but deadly!) Chain Chomps (Enemies from Super Mario Sunshine) Hamkuri Name Kuri Gooper Blooper Moe Kuri Dango Doro Kuri |

I'll go by each series that I know. Mario: Paratroopas Donkey Kong: Krusha Kirby: That ape-ish Hammer guy Metroid: Metroids (duh  ) Zelda: Those rats with bombs on their tails Earthbound: Lil blech Banjo-Kazooie: The carrot Yoshi: Bandits (  I also like the fat shy guys and fuzzies) Pokemon: (is there a baddie?), I'll just go with Mewtwo. Overall, I guess my number #1 favorite baddie is Krusha from Donkey Kong Country because of his "buff-ish" chuckle, and because he looks cool. |

I always thought Chargin' Chuck from Super Mario World was a pretty cool baddie, I wanna see them make a comeback in a 3D Mario game.
More cool ones...

Cat 'O Nine Tails (Donkey Kong Country 2)
blue Koopa Troopa (SMW - it's cool to see a Koopa that's blue)
various enemies from the Metroid franchise

Heh, good topic indeed.
My faves would have to be Lakitu, Spiny, Beetle Baileys and Shy Guys from SMB, Petras (update them Nintendo, please!) and Skeltos from LoZ, Metroids (of course!), and what could be the freakiest NES monster ever, the skull-headed ostriches from Star Tropics. Man, were they creepy!

1st party
Mario: Flying Cheep Cheep (annoying but challenging)
Luigi's Mansion: Mask Ghost (again, quite annoying when you vaccum up his mask, turned away, come back and found he got his mask on agian
Yoshi Touch & Go: Lakitu (score 10 points!)
Yoshi's Island: Goomba (fnuuy)
Are there enough Mario stuff?
Wario: Sorry but I only played Ware series. Well the planets in Ashley's shooting game is very hard, and I hope that counts
Zelda: Haven't played too much Zelda games, but I like Bob-ombs in it.
Metroid: Sorry I'm not familiar with it, but I like those metal spiked small organisms that crawls around.
2nd party
Paper Mario: Spiked Goomba (bah! I have my Spike Badge on! Who says that I can't give you a kick?)
3rd party
Kirby: I hoped I chould choose Meta Knight, but I couldn't. He's a good guy even if Kitby fights him. Then... Waddle Doo!
Super Smash Bros: I'd go with Crazy Hand. For (not so) general enemy, I like the Cruel Melee Wireframes.
Starfy: Before I know the names of the characters, I can't answer.

Golden Sun: I hate them all. All they do are delaying my playing time.
