Whilst looking up Snake's appearance in DreamMix TV World Fighters, I couldn't help but notice how little moves the characters had. Realizing how much potential they did have for larger movesets, it got me thinking which ones had the most. Flip already covered Bomberman, but I decided on something a bit less rational....
I was fiddling around with my
20th
Anniversary Optimus Prime figure , and decided to make cool poses with it. Then I decided those cool poses would translate to a full SSB moveset really awesomely.
Like in DMTVWF, some of my ideas are based on the
original toy, while others are based on the old animated series (seen above) and the recent live-action
movie.
That said, without further ado, just
transform and roll out sit back and read on....
General Description:Optimus Prime is the brave leader of the Autobots, and a well-known cultural icon. Like, the Mario of transforming toy robots. His fighting style is comparable to human-y characters like Captain Falcon, but with a lot more bulk and slow movements like Ganondorf. Being a giant transforming robot, some of his specials are a bit unorthodox, as you'll see when you read the following...
Basic Moves:Prime's attacks are all standard melee combat fare, such as punches and kicks. His smash attacks utilize his famous "Energon Axe" from the TV show.
Standard Attack: Prime uses a basic one-two punch combo.
Forward Attack: Prime does forward straight kick.
Upward Attack: Prime does a high roundhouse kick into the air. Sorta resembles one of Captain Falcon's moves.
Downward Attack: Prime does a low sweeping kick. Looks similar to one of Samus's moves.
Running Attack: Prime skids along the ground, pushing up a few sparks with his feet. I got the idea from the scenes in the new movie where they're transforming while driving down a highway.
Forward Smash: Prime swings the axe down in front of him in a hard chop. Looks like Link's forward smash.
Upward Smash: Prime does a fast upward cut with the axe. Refer to the Ice Climber's upward smash for best visual reference.
Downward Smash: Prime sweeps the axe below him back and forth. Resembles Link's downward smash.
Standard Aerial: Prime does a basic sex kick. Where did that term originate from?
Forward Aerial: Prime slashes the axe in front of him in a spinning motion.
Upward Aerial: Prime does a mid-air bicycle kick. Sorta like Fox's annoying up smash.
Downward Aerial: Prime slams into the ground beneath him with an elbow thrust. This is his Meteor Smash.
Backward Aerial: Prime does a double backwards karate kick. Comparable to Link's back aerial.
Grab: Prime grabs his opponent and holds them in a headlock. Idea taken from the scene where he fights Bonecrusher in the new movie.
Holding Attack: Prime punches whoever he's holding in th head. No, you can't noogie them.
Forward Throw: Prime quickly holds out his opponent in front of him by the collar, then slashes them away with the axe.
Backward Throw: Prime lifts the opponent up over head, then turns around and throws them. This move was frequently seen in fight scenes on the old animated series.
Upward Throw: Prime throws them into the air with one hand, then shoots them with his Ion Blaster with the other hand. Ripped off from Fox.
Downward Throw: Prime pins them to the ground face-first, like DK, then shoots them like Fox.
Special Moves:Going in tradition with Brawl, Prime has been given some rather wacky special moves. Most of them are based on his transforming abilities...
Standard Special: Ion BlasterPrime uses his signature laser rifle to blast away his foes. It's pretty much a big version of Fox's blaster, with lot more lag in between each shot. The shots themselves are pretty big though, and they do quite a bit of damage.
Forward Special: Transform and Roll OutCheesy name, I know. Prime transforms into his familiar truck alternate mode and mows down anyone in his path. It operates like Wario's Chopper, only much larger and unable to turn around. You can drive forwards continually until you press a button which will transform you back to robot mode. Be careful not to drive off the stage. In addition, the truck's trailer is attached, and resourceful players can either use the trailer as a platform to ride on like the Landmaster, or try to attack the trailer enough so it falls off. When detached, the trailer is like an item container that can be picked up and thrown around. Only one can be on the stage at a time, and not having the trailer attached makes this attack faster but less powerful.
Forward Special: Combat DeckThis move may seem a bit silly, and that makes sense given that I borrowed it from Prime's appearance in DMTVWF. Anyway, this move causes Prime to transform, then do a complete 360 spin in place. If the truck's trailer is attached, anyone standing on either side of Prime will get clobbered by it. This move can also be used as a recovery a la the Spinning Kong, except it works a lot better when the trailer is detached.
Downward Special: RollerThis move causes Prime to transform for one moment, and if he has his trailer attached, he'll drop it on the the stage and it'll open up. If it's not attached, it'll open up wherever it is. When the trailer opens, it'll reveal Roller, the little scouter droid from both the toyline and the TV show. At this point, Prime is stuck parked in one spot in truck mode (though invincible) while Roller is under your control. You can steer him left and right with the control stick and press A to fire a small missle (up to four). If Roller is attacked, Prime will still receive damage even though he's invincible in truck mode. If you want to end the move, either press the B button again, or steer Roller back into the open trailer. Make of this move what you will.
Final Smash: Autobot Matrix of LeadershipFrom the 1986 Transformers animated film. When activated, Prime opens up his chest, takes the Matrix out of his circuitry, then opens the Matrix itself, unleashing a huge pillar of white light around him. Anyone standing close enough to get caught in the pillar of light receives hefty damage, but no knockback.
Other Stuff:These are some other tidbits...
Taunt: Prime stands triumphantly and utters the famous line "Till all are one..."
Alternate Colors:1) Mostly white body with blue joints. (Ultra Magnus)
2) Almost entirely black with yellow eyes. (Black Convoy)
3) Blue instead of red. (Battle Convoy)
Victory Poses:1) Prime draws his gun, gets into a battle pose and says "Autobots, transform and roll out!"
2) Prime stands in a commandeering manner and says "Megatron must be stopped!"
3) Prime stands honorably and says "One shall stand, one shall fall..."
That's all for this moveset. I also have one for Sonic coming up. If any of you have any opinions on this, they're much appreciated. IF you want, I can do one for another TF character like Megatron, or maybe even a stage or something.
