This particular game was never released in the United States, actually.Could that mean... Devil World on the Virtual Console in North America? I hope!

I guess this update means it's possible we will get some Japan-only stuff. Which is good. I love obscure stuff.
I really hope there'll be some characters or items in there that I don't instantly recognise soon... Melee lead me to finding out about all kinds of games I'd never heard of... I love to get that from Brawl, too. ;D

Devil World on the Virtual Console in North America? I hope! It would be cool indeed, but I meant that Japanese content isn't out of place in Brawl! At least ATs and trophies, characters I'm not that sure...

I can't believe they would actually censor Devil World to begin with!

Well, we can't insult all the good upstanding Christians with talk of the Devil, now, can we? :) Too bad Nintendo never thinks of the Satanists that play their stuff. Now that's just religious profiling.

I can't believe they would actually censor Devil World to begin with! Back in the days of the NES, Nintendo's policy was to censor any religious symbols, including the cross. If I remember correctly, crosses were an item you had to collect to damage the devils. Interestingly, Rare's Taboo manages to get away with a cross and a pentagram. Anyway, the devil ability looks excellent. I can see myself shoving people of the platform to make more room for myself. That, or just hanging of the edge.

Yet, somehow, Link had a cross on his shield in LoZ. So it's not airtight.

The cross on Link's shield is odd... NoA even removed the crosses from the hospitals in EarthBound, so why did they leave that?

Not to mention the cross item in the Castlevania games kept switching between a giant cross and an actual boomerang But this is awesome. What a clever idea! And I hope he stays in the final game; I don't see why not. NOA hasn't been so bathobo crazy as they used to be back in the day. And this does give more hope for Japan-only stuff. Huzzah! EDIT: XD "Bathobo"

Not only did Tamagon use crosses, but also bibles (for rounds previous to the bonus ones), so it was like more blatant... I guess even these days they'd remove the crosses, or give the game a rating higher than "E for everyone".

I think Japanese characters that were only in Japan seem too far as that's unfair to other regions, so those characters should stay ATs. Tamagon for instance.
Don't forget Kid Icarus and the graveyard.

There was also some crosses on the tombstones in Miracola's graveyard in StarTropics 1. Did anyone know that one of the bibles from Devil World originated from the Book of Magic in the original LoZ? A cross can also be seen in the Game & Watch Zelda. Certain Japan-only games weren't released in America for certain reasons, like: - In Namco's Wonder Momo, there is sexual harassment going on. A photographer comes up to Wonder Momo and tries to take a picture of her panties. In Marvelous: Another Treasure Island, Ms. Geena reacts when you move the cursor over her breasts.
- In Tomato Adventure, there are a bunch of wierd stuff going on, plus it is too odd (even the game's name) and childish. However, it's still a great game, even for those who enjoy playing the other works of Chihiro Fujioka, most notably Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars.
- The Super Famicom and GCN versions of Panel de Pon are both girly. Even though it can be great for female gamers, there weren't many back then. We know the Super Famicom version was modified and released as Tetris Attack with SMW2: Yoshi's Island characters, to attract Tetris, Mario and Yoshi fans, even though it doesn't have much anything to do with Tetris other than being a puzzle game.
- Nazo no Murasame-jo, Yuu Yuu Ki, Shin Oni Ga Shima, and the Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan series weren't released outside of Japan, because they were associated with too much Asian content, while other nations weren't interested in Asian content.
- The Fire Emblem and MOTHER/EarthBound series weren't released in North America (until MOTHER 2/SNES EarthBound and Fire Emblem: Rekka no Ken), probably because Americans weren't very interested in RPGS back then.
- Doshin the Giant wasn't released in North America, probably because of Jashin the Hate Giant being satanic.
- Some games didn't sell well in Japan, but I can't think of any examples.
AND
- None of the titles of the Densetsu no Stafy series were released outside of Japan, probably because |A.| the series was too cute and childish, or |B.| TOSE wanted to stay "behind the scenes".
Some games and series weren't released outside of Japan for unknown reasons.

What about "Bible Adventures"? That game was based on religion. And they censor religious stuff but they leave characters with homosexual tendencies?Make up your mind Nintendo.

1. Bible Adventures wasn't licensed by Nintendo.
2. It's only Nintendo of America that censored this stuff. Nintendo of Japan allowed it, or we wouldn't know it was censored. Those homosexual tendencies are probably the reason we don't have Mother 3.

Those homosexual tendencies are probably the reason we don't have Mother 3. However, MOTHER 2/SNES EarthBound has several stuff that have been changed or removed, like changing "Bar" to "Cafe", making the sound of Pokey and Picky getting a spankin' by their father less realistic, and replacing Ness's naked sprites with his pajama sprites in his dream world, Magicant.
