It’s the devil from the NES game, Devil World! This particular game was never released in the United States, actually.
Anyway, when this evil guy shows up, you know it’s time for... What does he do again?Well, he certainly appears to be in good shape. After he ascends with his bat wings, he’ll move to a determined spot on the screen. Then he’ll jab his fingers up over his head!To the side! He’s pointing to the side! And now the screen scrolls! In Smash Bros., going off the screen means you’re out of the ring, and breaking that rule is very problematic.
So what happens then? Extreme panic and new strategies.Maybe something like this! Here’s an Assist Trophy that throws common sense out the window. I mean, he’s not assisting at all!

Interesting... the UK version of the site calls him "Demon" rather than "Devil" for some reason.
Awesome update, anyway.

This looks like fun!! Very good translation to SSB, and I love his model. Using this at Rumble Falls will be a mess

Nice effect for an Assist Trophy.
Did anyone notice that all 4 fighters are on the screen unlike in previous AT images.

Interesting... the UK version of the site calls him "Demon" rather than "Devil" for some reason. Awesome update, anyway. The Tamagon trophy said that Tamagon originated from "Demon World" instead of "Devil World", which probably means that Nintendo divisions outside of Japan decided to rename "Devil World" as "Demon World".

But it's also translated to the other languages as if it was a common noun (at least Spanish "Demonio"), just like "Pokémon Trainer".
Devil World needs to be rated by ESRB and the other rating boards so that the western world knows it.

Did anyone notice that all 4 fighters are on the screen unlike in previous AT images. FINALLY! That theory was getting kind of dumb and annoying.

Yes, someone just pointed out the 4 players thing to me too, so we can put that one to rest! This update is hilarious! I'm wondering why it has been renamed "Demon" but the game title is kept as Devil World. The UK update also removes the reference to the game not being released. Looking good, Mr. Demon! Another completely unexpected update! We're in for a good week! ;D

Both updates have been characters this week + a set of special moves. So as Fryguy said this is heading off to be a good week!

LOL, when I saw the Devil, I screamed "oh, my God!"
I'm shocked Nintendo finally stopped censoring Devil World - hopefully we will finally get that Tamagon trophy. I hope Nintendo of America doesn't tell Sakurai to remove Devil from the North American version of SSBB.
This AT is really awesome! He plays exactly just like in the original. Its so cool! It looks like we are on the good week now.
