Storyline-defining actions branching the main storyline? That sounds cool.
What happens to the princess you don't save? Maybe if you fail to save Peach, she will eventually become possessed and become Shadow Peach like in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. If you fail to save Zelda, she will eventually become possessed and become Puppet Zelda like in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.
I thought of an idea for a storyline-defining action... What if when it is Pokemon Trainer's time to shine in the storyline, you would have to choose between Squirtle, Ivysaur, or Charizard (3 different branches) before continuing Pokemon Trainer's part? The other two Pokemon you didn't choose might eventually become Shadow Pokemon just like in Pokemon Colosseum!

People, you play as MARIO first. There was a time lapse between the first movie and the second, not to mention we have a screenshot of Mario fighting those things.

Who will be the next character you play as though? Would it be the Princess you save, or you don't?

The Princess you don't save gets sucked into Subspace with Petey before you can defeat him, a la Heavy Lobster. Then when you return later on, maybe you run into that Princess and have a second chance to save her.
But maybe there's some weird dynamic where the one you pick becomes your sidekick? Or sends you off to Mushroom Kingdom/Hyrule, thus giving you the two paths to take?
And if this does indeed become like Event Mode, and you play as characters only at certain points in the story... that makes more sense with something like this than picking your own fighter. Afterall, what would Peach and Zelda do if you played as them? Sit in a cage while Kirby fights?

I suspect that the Princess you save will become your partner in the next level. Perhaps some kind of "Escape From Smash Stadium" race? After all, don't forget there's a great big bomb with a time limit going!

It would be neat if Adventure Mode let you 'stack' two ally characters to fight with you throughout adventure mode. Maybe even get a full four, since a boss doesn't necessarily need his own health bar in the fighter row on the bottom.

Let me make a few guesses... Boss Mode.- Every Kirby game since Kirby´s Adventure Got it, so why not Smash, I could almost bet on it! Event Mode.- Would event mode return? would you be able in this mode to pick any character to beat any boss/level of the adventure mode? (now that I think of it, some events in Melee didnt let you pick a character, so maybe it won´t be) Ridley.-I suspect like I had always suspected that Ridley is Doomed to be a Boss, never looked like playable material to me. and what other bosses do you expect in the game? I suspect they would need to be recurrent or recent bosses in their series so: Wispy Woods? Gohma? King bullblin? Pigma Dengar? Cactus King? Medusa?

Oh. My. God. The drama is too much. Having to choose between princesses? Genius!
Knowing Nintendo, you can't just leave one princess hanging. You probably have to go rescue her. Perhaps you start out with one character and get more as you go. Kind of like how you can play as any character you rescue in Tetris Attack.

You start as Kirby, save the Princess and get to play as her or Kirby, then next stage you run into Yoshi and Link in the desert and can pick them, and so forth. And, if they employ a map like I've always wanted, this gives potential for said characters to return to previous worlds and find new secrets!

Hm, such a dilemma. I still don't think this "locks" Adventure mode as a "set in stone" event, though. I think that they just started with Kirby to show off the concept. Who knows how much FMV has been made for the game? I will remain hopeful for character diversity until it's clearly defined as "Kirby always starts" or "Kirby's just starting in these screens".
I like the fact that Petey's first off in the boss arena. It's a fitting place for him. Now I'm quite curious to who/what else they'll use.

You play as Mario first, then Kirby. Mario is first people. Now, a map would be very nice. Make for a "deep" single player.

BUT Mario gets blown away. So, plotwise, I guess you could pick Mario or Kirby, but neither plays the same early stages.

Tei called it. Tei definitely called it. RSS feed got me again. I totally did ;D This opens so many doors for more appearances by franchise characters. I get the feeling that Master Hand and Crazy Hand might be "demoted" to this level, rather than being the boss of the whole mode...that, or they'll get eliminated entirely and we'll get to fight Andross or something. This is definitely awesome. I imagine the Princess you don't save has her own storyline (one for Zelda, one for Peach) that you follow later...meanwhile, the one you do save joins a party roster you can access whenever you need to play a level. You can choose from either Kirby or the Princess, and then you gain more party members as you go. I imagine Mario is the one to encounter Link and Yoshi in the desert. My best guess to how this all works is that you can only start with a handful of characters (Mario, Kirby and Fox or Meta Knight from what we've seen so far), but playing through each path will eventually yield the entire roster.

Man, that would be rad if that was the case. Especially if it was a huge branching path... and that was the method for unlocking character. Imagine what obscure path you'd have to travel to find Luigi!

First those things come (gatta remember the name) then after yopu cream them (as there were none in the second movie) the guy drops the bomb, Mario is sent flying and Kirby must beat Petey. If you chose the character and they have a story line, then that's Kirby's first stage. I bet you'll fight Petey in another level to save the other princess. I also wonder if you can chose which character you wish to use for certain levels.
