Sorry, I meant the length of the series would have been a good reason to make Wario a playable character, even at that time.

I remember when Super Smash Brothers came out on N64, I thought Wario should have replaced Jigglypuff, because of the Warioland games and his status.
Then when Melee came out and he STILL wasn't in it.... I was very surprised.
Now that he's in... it makes sense that he's in his Warioware getup. Because Warioland was a spinoff of the Mario series... so wario would still be using the Mushroom icon... instead of his own W icon. He's not a Mario character now... he's a Warioware character. That makes him more unique and more worthy of being in smash I think. Alot of people are upset because he's not in his classic yellow plumber outfit... but if I were in charge of Smash Brothers... I'd have done the same thing. This stage is perfect. I can't WAIT to play on it. (I like Warioware)
About the 2nd party thing... hmm... I never really thought about it too much. It's hard to keep track of what's 2nd party and what's 1st party. Especially when Rare is involved. I'm not too worried about it still... they're all Nintendo characters to me. Call it an ignorant viewpoint if you will... but it makes Smash Brothers more enjoyable.

I don't remember Wario appearing in the original SSB... Where was he? I take it he meant wasn't...

Actually, besides the Wars Series and the unlikely chance that Nintendo got Xenosaga and Baten Kaitos with Monolith Soft, there really IS no other Major Current Franchises for Nintendo to use for Brawl, besides Wario and Animal Crossing. Sakurai has stated that he doesn't want modern weaponry besides explosives in Brawl.

Wait, DID Nintendo get Monolith's games in the buy? It would make them Nintendo games (but we probobly won't see them as they could be lost just as easily).

Sorry Johan...misread Anyways, I would NOT want to see an Advance Wars character. I think they are too generic and boring to be in a Smash Bros games. If they had someone wielding a wrench or something like that, then I wouldn't mind, but you can't give them a tank, or make them fight with their fists and no added specials such as Mario's various powers.

I have a thing for tech-head girls, so I'd like to see that Advanced Wars girl with the wrench go at it. Seriously. I don't even know her. XD
Also, I don't think it'll happen for Brawl, but I'd love to see Mona from WarioWare be playable in some incarnation of the series. That would be friggin' awesome. XD

As opposed to generic bishonen Marth from Fire Emblem who just hit you with his sword? Marth's a great character and all, but his moveset is a bit on the generic side.

Well, his fighting style is unique compared to the other swordfighters. He's graceful, while Link just uses his moves from various Zelda games, Meta Knight is hyper, Ike is slow and powerful, and Pit barely even counts since he uses two small blades instead of one sword.

Yet another proof that Sakurai is a second-party hater. Say I'm wrong or something, but why is the original used - the only one in the series without INTELLIGENT SYSTEMS involved? The first game has no use of tilting/scratching/whatever capabilities, which translate better for Smash. Are simpler, yet better. After Touched, the series started to smell, IMO.
