He actually posted Latin lyrics? That's pretty incredible. I'll get right on that; a few of my friends are Classics/Latin majors and the like. Of course, I will probably do nothing, but at least I'm offering, right?

This is likely for the intro movie like the one shown at E3 06. The better instrumental version (just because it's more fit for fighting) will be stage music, most likely.

Thanks to Nintendo for shutting down the N-sider forums I've had to retrive the lyric translation I posted earlyer. so here it is.

Ok, so I'm giving this my second try of translating it...

BUT FIRST!!

Some stuff I want to say..

First off, this took really long...
I mean, so long, you don't even want to know...

Second, as re-listened to it over and over again, I found something interesting...
They pronounce the song in 2 different ways...ugh, so that made it even more hard. You see in the begining, it's fine, but later towards the end of the song, they sing it like church Latin and then go back and forth from mid-evil to church. So, that made it a little hard...

Third, I can garuntee you this translation and lyric comprehension is not correct. There were some parts I couldn't even think of Latin words that would fit, so I wrote what I thought it sounded like on this Latin stuff. And with the tranlation, I just stuck it in there too in a random spot, lol, so that might make it irratating...mabye...

Eh, it's close enough I say, but from the translation, I can safely say that is no where near the real lyrics...


Some other stuff:

Ok, so I've updated it slightly from what it once was. I looked up some more stuff in Latin music and found some good info. Lots of times letters are removed or added on inorder to make the melody run smoothly. I relistened to it and corrected my mistakes that I found in the Latin, and then translated it into a fasion that would be understandable. There's actually a small story inside the music, that seems very interesting.

The first part of the music is actually talking about the first Super Smash Bros. game, and how it grew to fame very fast.
The second part talks about a ressurection of the game once more after it has been played but is often as entertainment like going to see the movies.

The 3rd part, when the melody shifts, is talking about someone who is being taunted or severly hurt after having great pride.
After that, it talks about how a great gamer starts out and soon becomes better over time.

The last 5-6 verses are actually words of the mouth. I put that in quotes to show that. It's actually kinda funny when you think about it.. you see this is actually stressing from a sort of sibling rivalry that can take many courses. What is happening is that it is reaching the climax of a very, evenly matched battle. And how victory can easily change from one person to another. Even though these two people relise they are playing a video game, they still treat it like a serious matter of life and death. Eventually, the one who was actually winning turns out to lose and gives up entirely, which shows how easily people don't even want to see the game.


This might not be correct, but this seems closer then before. And if that's the case, mabye there's a clue inside the song...mabye some characters takes 3 lives to get...hmm...

**Some of the words really couldn't be translated effectively because even in Latin the grammar isn't correct. I'm not sure if that's common in Latin songs or not, but I might update the translation after I do some more research on Latin song writing and such

I disagree with author the conversation might be between two characters in Brawl the last line showing the characters going from enemies to allies. Some of it may go all Nostradamus on the SSE story as well such as "Failure turns into courage, from courage comes a soldier."
