Yeah, I would rather get a worldwide release in 2008 than have to wait 6 month's (like SSBM) after the NA launch.

If the delay was just to add Sonic and Sonic elements such as stage, items, etc., how does it make Brawl a better game? Depends on who you're asking... for all I know, it is suddenly a better game for Sonic fanboys.

Umm.. the game is being delayed on the same day Sonic is confirmed. Hmmm.. two plus two is five?
Maybe Sonic was announced just to soften the blow that Brawl is delayed... maybe Sakurai is hoping that people won't care about the delay now that they have their precious hedgehog

I'm pretty sure thats exactly the idea - the delay non-announcement has probably been coming for a while, it just needed something huge to drown it out. Enter Sonic.
