It says "To Be Determined"
You guys are forgetting that it also means the game could be released earlier...but that is very unlikely.

Since when does TBD means the game is going to be released earlier than the original release date?

Hahaha.. wizzle sounds like a funny word and I don't even know what it means. Anyway, I guess delay will be good for the game... maybe there will be 50 characters in Brawl.. we already know 22 playable characters and the game won't come out till the end of January in Japan! Now that I think about it.. maybe the reason why Brawl was delayed is because Nintendo and Sega didn't want Brawl to outsell Mario & Sonic Olympics so they gave us an appetizer for the fabled Mario vs. Sonic match before Brawl. I think the reason for the delay was to avoid what happen in Melee. I wouldn't be surprised if he had to go the clone route again if the game was released on the 3rd. I sespect it's to give the game it's full completion. To make sure everything is done. Yes... that's another good reason. Better have a lot of original characters than to have some clones. Yeah, I noticed that Brawl already got 12 original newcomers while in Melee there were only 8 original newcomers plus 6 clones. So yeah, that must be it. ;D

The M&SatOG is probably the reason. I mean think about wouldn't consumer/purchasers be confused if say someone told they wanted the Wii game with Mario and Sonic in it and end up seeing two games with them on the store shelves. Also you could have clashes in advertisments and stuff for the games as well. The two games come out in the space of less of a month in NA right?

That might be a reason. I've always expected there was a marketing reason behind it. Brawl would detract from Galaxy, and especially Wii Fit. Which is also why I wonder if we'll still get i in Dec. We won't get Wii Fit, so there is not as much worry, but Nintendo needs these sales to combat other large US titles. In Japan, they just fight them selves. In the US, they fight the Xbox.

The only problem with the delay to give Mario vs Sonic more time (which I think is a very valid idea) is that they've now shown Sonic is coming to Brawl. If they really want to bring in more sales, they would have kept Sonic secret until all the fanboys had bought the Olympics game, I would think.

Well, this is to keep the hype train moving.
Brawl will sell either way. It's not a game that is dependent on the holiday season like Halo is. It will sell well any tiem and throughout the console's life cycle. So delaying it to help other game is wie. Also, this can help them counter Grand Theft Auto 4 and MGS4.

I blame sonic for the delay...athough seeing as us PAL gamers get stuff way after everybody else does, it doesn't worry me that much.
Yay, Happy 23rd Birthday to me.

DiU made a very good point, and that point was SONIC IS IN THE DEMO!!!!!1!!1!!! If I recall, Snake wasn't, and NinjaRygar also made a good point. Just go to the Sonic thread to read it. It's very long. Also, Happy Birthday!

Strange, February 10 is a Sunday, but NoA always releases their games on a Monday.
Pokémon Diamond/Pearl were the only other games I remember them releasing on Sunday, but they only did that because of the Nintendo World Store launch event.
Could this mean a possible Brawl launch event?

Actually, the release of Pokemon D/P had nothing to do with a launch event. Note that Phantom Hourglass also had a Nintendo World launch event, but the game released on a Tuesday just like any other game.
The only time Nintendo games are released on Sundays is when they're released alongside important pieces of hardware. For example, Pokemon D/P came out on the same day as the DS headset. So I wonder what else we're getting on that Sunday. Maybe... a Wii hard drive?

Sunday usually means big launches. Pokemon was a Sunday because it was a big launch. Same for Smash. The stores will all get them before the game is out.
