Since Parrothead is in charge of the updates, I will not make the topic. BUT I will discuss a bit of her in here, considering what I want to converse about. So far, we know of the following pairings in SSE: Mario/Kirby -- Only in IntroMario/Pit -- Pit finds Mario in Skyworld and revives him Kirby/Peach OR Zelda -- Kirby rescues one or the other from Petey Pirahna DK/Diddy -- Diddy helps DK fight off the Koopa Klan and save their bananas Fox/Diddy -- Fox saves Diddy from Rayquaza after crashing in the Kongo Jungle Link/Yoshi -- Unknown, but seen in a screenshot together Solo... Wario -- So far, no partner known Meta Knight -- So far, no partner known Conjectured... DK/Bowser -- DK and Diddy confront Bowser, but DK is no longer with Diddy when Diddy meets Fox. Where did DK go? Did he join Bowser? Did he get CAUGHT? Mario/Sonic -- May be from a replay mode, but they were in the "Sonic Joins the Brawl" trailer together What other combinations would you like to see? Personally, I think Trainer/Pikachu would be a good combination. The Trainer sees a "wild" Pikachu and attempts to catch it. No matter who you play as and win with, however, they are interrupted by a wandering Waddle Dee. Trainer wonders what kind of Pokemon it is and Dexes it, only to find the whole forest littered with them. A stage ensues with food and other goodies galore. Follow the trail and at the end of the level Trainer and Pikachu fight none other than King Dedede They dispatch him, but in the process the character you didn't play as is lost and the other joins the big penguin, who points to the Halberd in the sky above as disturbing the peace in his kingdom--he needs a new place to rule. Dedede and Pikachu/Trainer go off to the next world, and the character left behind is found by the Primids. As they are dragged off, the image of Mew silently watches from behind... Yoshi's Island or Hyrule being infested with Pokemon is kinda funny, too. Wonder if they're going to play up the "Pokemon getting displaced" thing a bit

For some reason I expect Trainer to be one evil bastard, like Wario, who's out to capture critters to do his bidding, critters like Pikachu.
Oh and King Dedede + Ice Climbers as team mallet would be nice.

Samus and Captain Falcon have to team up. Or maybe fight for a bounty?

Ooh, Samus, specifically in her Zero Suit, and Snake would be a particularly awesome pairing.
Ike and Meta Knight would be an interesting group, too. Mysterious swordsmen, unite!

I'm actually thinking that Pokemon Trainer's 3 Pokemon might get split up and you'll play as individual ones, until eventually they all unite and you get the 'proper' Pokemon Trainer as a character.
I also think Pokemon could play quite a large role in Subspace - Dailga and Palkia having big roles makes way too much sense.

If Ness is in the game you could have a Lucas/Ness team, though if that did happen starmen.net would probably crash or explode or something along those lines.
Another dream combo would be Marth and Ike, two FE character's from different FE's working together would be neat to see.
Mario and Link, Nintendo's two greatest heroes need to appear together for a mightly battle of some sort.
Kirby and Pikachu, . . . seemed like a good idea when I looked at Thores avatar image.

All I could think of is:
Mario/Solid Snake --- As seen in Solid Snake's intro video.

One thing to keep in mind is that teams get larger then 2. In fact, the level proceeding the Fox one could have Fox, Diddy and DK playable. In DK and Diddy's subspace level, there were three characters in the stock.

I still buy that since this is relatively earlier on the story that DK got nabbed by Bowser. Or else where would he be?

In past screenshots/videos (can't remember), we see Mario fighting Petey Piranha as well. I suspect you pick one or the other to play as at the beginning, fight each other, and then the storyline kicks off. Whichever one you choose determines who you will play next in the storyline. So Pit finds Mario, but if it's Kirby who gets blown away, he might be found by someone else. It really looks like character choices will play a big role in how the story pans out, and I have no doubt there will be incentives for working through every one of the possible stories

Well yeah. If Mario saves one of the princesses, then can we expect to see Mario riding around on a WarpStar while the Halberd fights a Arwing? I thinketh not. This story is probably gonna branch like crazy.

Good lord I LOVE that idea. <3 You should write out the entire story for the SSE, Flip. I'm not kidding. Yoshi and Kirby: When the Arwing crashes onto the Halberd, Kirby and Peach (or Zelda) are blown away, and seperated. Later, on Yoshi's Island, Yoshi comes across the unconcious Kirby, and curiously sniffs him. Just then, enemies appear from the bushes - a horde of Kremlings! (a guy can dream, can't he?) Yoshi bravely defends Kirby, and just then, Kirby awakens and joins the battle. Just an idea...not all that awesome, though. I'd love to see Link and Samus as well. It would be an interesting pair. We also have yet to see Link in the SSE other than one screenshot...

The inspiries...they flow like urine passed by brutish elephants who have had too much to drink! [/Dimentio Metaphor]
Seriously though, there's a lot of mix-and-matching combinations here. My favorite in any crossover is the most outlandish--regardless of whether or not I like the characters. Diddy and Fox is pretty freaking awesome just because their native settings are so different--and Diddy is a secondary character, while Fox is the main character of his franchise.
I'd like to see Samus meeting up with either Dedede or the Ice Climbers--I don't care how they do it, so long as they find a way to make it happen. Why? Well, a self-proclaimed dictator penguin who uses his body weight and mallet as his main weapons partnered up with one of the best mechanically-enhanced bounty hunters in the galaxy is bizarre. Not to mention awesome.
Another neat pairing would be Lucas and Ike. Why? I don't know! Maybe because they're stark opposites as well, like Fox and Diddy. Neo-futuristic Japanezarre RPG hero paired up with a super-realistic fantasy strategy RPG hero...it's so wrong, but so right!
Sure, while matching Captain Falcon with Samus, or Ike with Marth would be neat just because they're similar, I feel like it'd be more enjoyable if they go with the theme of "strange bedfellows." The mismatched pairs are the most interesting!
