Starting Roster Revealed in a Month?

I can see Ridley working as a combination of Mewtwo and Charizard...the lithe and agile form and long tail of Mewtwo, and the wings, power and overall dragon-ness of Charizard. I don't see why he wouldn't work.

Yeah, pretty much. Furthermore he'd probably float too, like Mewtwo.

Going back a fair few posts (I've missed a lot), there was a mention of 'Ridley Boss Battle' music.... but every music track name is named from where it is from, not where it is going to be used. So I don't think that says anything at all.

[yellow text below] That King DeDeDe has finally arrived! The game with subjects [also read as topics] under monopoly that always get attention, a complete single copy [of a book, magazine, etc.] that explains the Smash Brothers' characters [read as all characters].

[white text at bottom] As for what it contains, if we tell you now then next month on our homepage, we wouldn't have anything to say, so other than those who have a time machine, wait in anticipation for next month!!"


My personal opinion: They say "all characters" which could mean all the characters in the game, OR all the characters from the Dojo. Its impossible to tell which, and the article I initially translated (which was a Mother fansite that was reporting the news) speculated that it could simply be the starting roster. In the past (twice), CoroCoro said they were going to have news on Smash, but it turned out to be a rehash of the Dojo with one or two new screenshots at best. Which is why I am leaning towards the "all the characters from the Dojo" interpretation.

That is simply my opinon. I honestly hope I'm wrong.

I'm gonna be in total agreement with the translator here. Don't expect anything incredible; they said it would be a secret until the unveiling, but it's unlikely to be anything groundbbreaking. ONE new character, if any.

Personally, I want to know how come CoroCoro Comics manage to reveal stuff BEFORE it gets revealed on the Dojo (assuming they reveal the whole cast as opposed to the ones we already know about)?

Do they have a mole inside the development team or something?

They are in touch with the development team. Famitsu often shows screenshots never seen before.

They will reveal 30 characters as collectible cards in the January issue. Either THIS is the coveted "Secret" or this is the only bit to leak out from Japan thus far.

Whether 30 is the final character total or not nobody's sure. They could have a few sleepers in there. But in all it's greatly pissed off the entirety of Gamefaqs and other communities.

It said AT LEAST 30. 30 in it's self is a bit small as there are still many characters to add. 22 (minus ZSS) plus the 5 from Melee makes 27. Capt. Falcon makes 28, and if Ganondorf and Falco return, 30. If it's at least 30, then we know there could be a few more (maybe 2-5).

Of course, I remember with Melee they said there would be at least 20 characters, and we got 26 with Sheik.
