To be honest, I could care less. It is generous to avoid them becuase some people will play it though the translation. However, Fry is right. The game came out in 2006, and it's now the end of 2007. The spoiler train stops here. Technically, it ends after one year since the game came out. It is respectful to try and blue your spoilers, but don't blow up because someone did. Tei the Spiffy: You are right about the quoting thing. I was trying to point it out in a clever way. |

That '1 year after release' rule is a load of bullshit (should be that anything this gen must be spoiler tagged or something.... and yes I am aware that wouldn't include Mother 3, unless you believe the '3 tiers' crap, but thats irrelevant), but really, if you don't want Mother 3 spoilers, don't venture into a Mother 3 related thread. I mean, surely the fact a music update has gotten over 2 pages of discussion is a clear sign discussion has moved on, and if you use your head, chances are you should have a rough idea what its moved on to.

My point exactly. It's a thread about Mother 3, specifically. It mentions "Porky" - and it's already been established that for some reason this is the new name for Pokey. Big spoiler right there, unless you ALSO checked out the New Pork City Dojo update, where it clearly shows Pokey's giant statue looming over the city. He's in it. That's not a spoiler any longer. And to Tei and everybody else on these forums who knows the storyline and desires some peace from these Starmen.net crazies. I have some good news for you: NinDB Declares Mother 3 to be Spoiler Free!! |

But the last battle + ending sequence is one of the best things I've ever seen.

Actually, if you wait on the ending, you learn all the main characters (and Porky in his Absolutely Safe Machine) survived the Apocalypse, though you don't get to see it, just hear it.

I can understand people getting tired of hiding spoilers of Mother 3 at this point. A lot of the points that TEi and Fry have made regarding the matter are valid, and I'm sure I'd be annoyed too if someone snapped at me for accidentially mentioning a revealing story element of a game I've known the ending of for over a year. Especially since I'm the member of a rapidly shrinking minority that is deliberately avoiding the full story of Mother 3, it's getting to the point where the rest of you are hiding spoilers to accomodate like three people. And I appreciate the efforts made by some, but I get why you'd want to stop. But NinjaRygar, you took things too far. You did that just to be an asshole. I don't know whether you thought it'd be hilarious to post the entire story in all caps without warning (it's not), or you just wanted to "teach a lesson" for those of us that were "stupid" enough to come back to this thread, but it was just a douche move. Something I'd expect on 4chan, but not here. I see that Fry's "play nice" warning appealed to all of you for a grand total of 2 weeks, and some of you are back to old habits already, and zero consequences have been brought about, and some of you have clearly noticed because you've gone back to being childish assholes again. (A great deal of you are still being awesome, though, and I've noticed that too. arcadenik's posts have improved drastically, and I think TEi in particular should be considered for an upgrade to moderator status for the cool head he's kept through all this.) Anyways. I'm leaving NinDB forums. It might just be for a day to cool off in case I'm being irrational, it might be until after Brawl's release, but I'm leaving. I love this community, and have a great deal of respect for a lot of you, but the way things are going I can barely go a day anymore without going into a thread and being aggravated at the way some of you are treating me and each other. We shouldn't be acting like punks that ruin games for people on purpose just because we think we're right and they're wrong. We should be better than that. And when I leave, by the way, I leave. I'm not going to come back and read responses in this thread to see how you all react. I'm not coming back until I feel I'm ready. I hope things will be better when I return. |

thores: Hiding spoilers was never just to keep a set few happy (well, I guess it was, but let me explain). There were some people who didn't want spoilers, and so we hide them away, stepping on eggshells. Some of us got annoyed. NinDB has never had problems with spoilers, and rarely would we have ever used them. Mother 3 seems tio be the new case, but Fry's rules seems to solve that. As for anyone targeting you, I'd have to see it for myself. For the most part, all of the members have improved. However, I feel I start some crap sometimes, but I will say I don't hold any grudges against members, and I try to keep the arguments in the arguments. I'm sure other members have their own thing, and I don't think any member holds grudges on another. If you ever have problems with another members, either talk to that member and try and sort it out, or talk to Fry. There isn't to much enforcement by the other mods since there is rarely an out burst, and Fry steps in when there is one. We love having you here so know that you'll be missed if you decide to leave. This is the case with everyone. That is the beauty of a small community becuase you get to learn everyone's name.

It's like getting a Christmas present. Would you want to open it before Christmas, or at Christmas? I guess we're just all different people. /  |

I'm sorry I spoiled Mother 3 for you. (I thought it was fair game? I mean, that was the point... right?)
I went overboard. ... I was just getting it all out there.
But really... you're way overreacting. I see no reason to use the age-old "leaving the internet forever" speech over something like that. I mean look... Fry said it was spoiler free... so really, what did I do wrong?
Really though... you shouldn't leave because of me, I feel you're overreacting, and placing way too much blame on me for something very innocent. Maybe it was too much, too soon, and I didnt' think it was a big deal anymore... but maybe I WAS being an asshole... because I think avoiding spoilers for this game is really pointless.
So if I should get penalized, banned, or punished in any way... I'll take that. Really it's up to the admin. I feel that I did nothing wrong... but I won't object at all to any action. My stance though is that you shouldn't leave.
