Speaking of Pac-Man, did anyone know that Pac-Man is Shigeru Miyamoto's favorite non-Nintendo video game, according to Nintendo Power's Star Fox 64 Player's Guide? I guess his fondness of Pac-Man was what made him design Pac-Man Vs. I'd like to know more about how that game came to exist. Wow, after reading that, I just noticed something. SM could mean either Shigeru Miyamoto, or Super Mario or Sado-Masochism. Somebody once asked him if it was intentional that both "Super Mario" and "Shigeru Miyamoto" start with the same letters, and he responded that it was a coincidence.

I recently heard in the talk page of the SSBB Wikipedia article that Marth and Roy are removed according to Famitsu. I don't believe it, because DarkFierceDeityLink believes that Marth and Roy will not appear in SSBB at all, because of them being Ike's predecessors. Mario and Luigi are the predecessors to Wario as the first male representatives of the Mario franchise. Just because Marth and Roy are the predecessors to Ike does not mean that they are being REPLACED by Ike. However, we know why Roy is nearly unlikely at appearing in SSBB. What Famitsu is actually saying is something like "Will Marth and/or Roy appear in SSBB as a playable character along with Ike?", not anything like "Hey everyone! Marth and Roy aren't in SSBB! We're serious!"

It would be a really stupid decision to completely remove a perfectly good moveset from SSB in the transition from Melee to Brawl, and from what we've seen, Ike and Lucas' movesets bare some similarities, but are not the exact same thing as Marth and Ness' movesets.

And I'm pretty sure that Sakurai's saying that Ness has been the only MOTHER / EarthBound series representative in the SSB series up until now.

And I'm pretty sure that Sakurai's saying that Ness has been the only MOTHER / EarthBound series representative in the SSB series up until now. Here you go ParrotHead. You can try and interpret it. Whobby Impressions Part 3Ness/Marth/Roy Article TranslationsWe've translated the article showing Ness, and this is what we got: Title: "Do you remember Ness?
Ness, a representative of the Mother 2 series, has been appearing in Smash. He started out in Smash Bros. as a hidden character. In order to make him playable all that trouble you had to go through...Incidentally, the movie featured on the official website reveals that Mr. Saturn is still a throwable item." And now for Marth and Roy's: Title: "Do you Remember Marth and Roy?"
They are touched upon in the column page, but these two participated in Melee from the Fire Emblem series. One of them is Marth who's from the game Fire Emblem and the Sword of the Dark Dragon and Light. The other is Roy who comes from Fire Emblem The Sword of Seals. Marth wields a fast flowing sword, and though immature Roy wields a potent blade. Can Ike surpass his two predecessors? Stay tuned!" They point out that they are Ike's predecessors, which could mean they're not in Brawl. Since the magazine is doing these features on old characters, is this the final nail in the coffin for Ness? This could mean a number of things, so take it as you may.

They probably know as much as we do on the matter... either that or they're trying to make us speculate.

They probably know as much as we do on the matter... either that or they're trying to make us speculate. Depends on where its from. If its from Famitsu (Is that where its from?), its pretty much a given they're not returning since Famitsu has already reviewed the game, and probably has a full copy of it. If its not from Famitsu, take it with a grain of salt.

If it is from Famitsu, they could be trying to leave it for us to find out so as not to spoil the game...
