I think they have doe a great job with the design here! And the double update with the music for the stage is "brilliant". Although I wouldn't have thought a little kid like Lucas would be heavier than Peach or Zelda

Although I wouldn't have thought a little kid like Lucas would be heavier than Peach or Zelda Brawl is full of messages. Climatic change, desertification and now... obesity.

I agree, yet, the stage is so sad in it's loneliness, yet it's logicall... It's been 23 years ever since the SMB 1-1 stage has been used in it's entirity, I mean, Mario has never EVER crossed these grounds sinse SMB, and possibly SMB-All stars, so offcourse it has began to fade away. No one has officially touched it, no one has crossed this place, no on has tended for the old castle or it's flag which still blows proudly by the wind, showing it's long forgoten skull symbol... I mean, it's green colour has almost faded away! I think it's honorable of Nintendo and Sakurai, to show World 1-1 as it is... untouched, but never forgoten...
Or it could have been the fault of the Subspace-Army...

I sure didn't expect Ivysaur to be so light. Weird!

Damn kids and their unhealthy lifestyles thats what it is I wonder if we will see the return of classic enemies from these stages. I didnt expect Fox to be the lightest. Wasnt Kirby lighter in melee? Its a good job I can utilise Fox's speed. Also, no Snake on that list? -_-

well, it's pretty safe to assume Snake and Sonic aren't part of the starting roster, which is all that this list includes.

"Lost Mushroom Kingdom" would've been a better name... or maybe "First World" or something like that.
Now we need a ruined recreation of something from Zelda.

Odd, I always imagined World 1-1 of SMB to be a lush, green area, sort of like World 1 from SMB 3. In any case, I'm sure I'll enjoy this level. Thank you, Sakurai!

Heh, I was quite stunned when I saw this. A retro remix that does something drastically different - aging a stage? Who would've guessed that? And this is the kind of scrolling stage I like. I'd like more stages like this.

Firstly: what a FUNKY stage. I love it! It's odd that it has become a desert, but on the logic that Mario hasn't seen these parts in ages it makes sense. The randomness of playing in 1-2 is genius, as is the more realistic design to everything--it matches the Mario casts' Brawl looks excellently.
The list of weights is strange. Fox got a HUGE nerf in that department, and I noticed that the Ice Climbers got a major buff as far as that goes. They're Mario weight now, which is soooo awesome. It makes them semi-useful. And did anybody notice Pit basically IS Young Link? That's the same position he held, if I'm not mistaken.

This is beautiful, a very nostalgic stage, and it's interesting that they didn't have to use old-school graphics to accomplish it. It makes you feel like you have been alive for a loooong time and have played a lot of video games.
And that's one precious arrangement for Koji Kondo's legendary song.

I think I have a new favorite stage!
This is too cool - the abandoned remnants of where Mario first battled the Koopas. Looks a little gloomy, but oh well. Sakurai's going all out with these stages; I can't wait to see what others he has planned.
Oh, and being able to fight in 1-2 is WIN!
