I wonder if Earthbound and Fire Emblem ever will be released on the US/EU Virtual Console.

Seeing as Sin and Punishment was released for the VC, even though it didn't see the light of day anywhere outside of Japan, I'll go with a cautious maybe for now.

I just don't know what to say of this update...I've always hated demos because I could never play the full game. I guess I'll have to wait and see how this turns out...

It's not the full game lineup here, you know... Hopefully we will get demos of games that weren't released But with Japan's update, this pretty much confirms Ness and Marth from the horse's mouth. What's the point of having masterpieces for characters who aren't there, eh? Man, with Brawl is there any point NinDB existing any more? The point of NinDB is so that every reference is painstakingly cataloged for future generations, who will be all like "Who's the kid with the bat?" The Masterpieces is a cool idea. Let people play a minute of two of the classic games where the Brawlers started. Too bad they can't do Gameboy games. Looks like Pokemon is going to get Pokemon Snap or nothing.

But then... I guess not all characters will have their own game. Bowser got none! Bowser got the game he first appeared in, Super Mario Bros. Fox should've used the boost to chase.

I'm on the fence on this one. I like the fact you can play short demos of the classics but I wouldn't be pleased if we didn't get Japan-only demos like Fire Emblem and Mother.
I thought we would only have the first games of each series... Like Kirby gets Kirby's Dream Land, Zelda gets The Legend of Zelda, Mario gets Super Mario Bros., Pokemon gets Pokemon Red & Blue, etc. But it seems not the case as we got Super Metroid, Star Fox 64, and Kirby's Adventure, meaning we might get demos of most games of each series.
It is too bad we might not get demos of Game Boy games like Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3. Maybe even no DS demos for WarioWare?

Now we know why there was a month delay.
To take out Fire Emblem and Mother. HUZZAH!
I don't see why there couldn't be demos for GB games. It could be a way for Sakurai to foreshadow a Gameboy channel. And we'd all love him forever.

This is the last thing I'd expect Brawl to have. I think it'll be great for folks who never played the classics.

Hm. I wonder if we'll see Metal Gear and Sonic the Hedgehog on it. I don't think the former has had a VC release yet.

Metal Gear hasn't, as far as I know.
I like this idea. A great way to introduce newer gamers to the classics, and a good reminder of how these characters earned their fame for established gamers. Awesome.

Can't they just release Earthbound on VC already?

I'm wondering if I'll use up those demos or not.
Gay as this sounds, I like to have everything unlocked in smash. I absolutely hate the idea of LOSING something.... for good!
Plus I've played most of these games already... either through illegal or legal means. So I feel like I should save the demos for somebody who hasn't... or if I want to show somebody something.
I doubt I'll use up my demos!
